Hey Guys,

Looking for advice from someone that has heard any one of the "on wall" series (M5HP, 60's or 80s) plus has also heard a QS10s. I'm replacing outdoor bose speakers. Little background, I currently have 15 year old axiom front speakers, M50s and 180? center channel, absolutely love them! Looking forward to upgrading them one day.

Currently my sub is an SVS 2000, as my old EP350 died last year. Hope to replace that soon with an EP500.

I mainly use my speakers for music while cooking and these speakers will serve double duty as surround rear and to help bring music into the kitchen, as I have an open layout between my tv room and kitchen. Really wish I could listen to both and decide. So QS10s or one of the on wall series.

Do the on wall series reproduce bass as well as the QS10s?

I will also be adding 2-4 more speakers in the kitchen. Two in ceiling and either two on wall or QS-10s.

I don't know what to tell you about rear surrounds other than no speaker I've ever used in the rear has resulted in any difference. I use QS10 sides and love them.

I have usable bass from my QS10 down to 32Hz in my room. The M5s will definitely give you a better stereo image but that's not critical for your kitchen listening.

I'm using the QS10s on the rear wall in a 5.1 system: currently M22, EP500, QS10s surrounds.

I have only run a few movies and have not done any measurements as the setup is not finalized yet.

The room is less then ideal: 18x18x9 (so much for room modes) ... the theater area is on one side of the room (9'x18) and a pingpong table is one the other (9'x18'). One side (theater) has a big window and the other (ping pong) is basically all glass. The QS10s are 5' behind the seating area, one is 9' off center while the other 4 feet.

It actually sounds great considering the room ... The QS10s work in these positions although I have not tried anything with strong surround info. Playing music (fronts and sub only) I get a surprisingly good image.

I also have M3ow's ... they sound great (a lot like the M3) and I've used both as a stand alone speaker.

For surrounds these are also excellent speakers especially in an ATMOS setup. For 5.1 or 7.1 the M3ow would not be as good as a QS10 but it would also not be a terrible 2nd ...

Where the QS10 would not be the best choice for ATMOS. Hope this helps.
