I would really like alan's input on all this, is differs quite some from what he was claiming a while back, i have a denon avr-4802 and wanted to use the video switching on the amp for the new pj i will be getting, but was a little weary about horizontal signal loss or picture degradation because of the signal going through the amp (rated at 50 MHz video bandwidth), esp. h/d or dvd signals via a component video inputs/outputs

Great, high bandwith switchers are made by Key Digital Systems. They can get a little expensive though, but it's like anything else....:)
