Ok, so with that title don’t be disappointed by the actual question.
How are these wall mounted? Do they require the full metal bracket or something different?
Anyone familiar with this?

thanks in advance,
Jeff

Have you downloaded/reviewed the pdf instruction that can be found under the specifications tab of the M5HPOW?

I've never read the pdf LondonCalling referred to. When I got the OW, they included a T-shaped bracket. I screwed that sucker into the wall, connected 12 gauge wire to it via the provided "clamps", tightened it using the provided IKEA-style tool and then hung the OW on the T using the built-in hooks. I have my M5s mounted into drywall anchors. I had the M2s mounted without anchors but the M5 'nads are just too massive and may swing to and fro without anchors.

I did not see that. Probably need a stronger eyeglasses prescription.
Thanks,
Jeff

The included power bracket looks familiar.
Reminds me of the bracket that came with the QS8s. Not sure if they are the same, but didn’t use it, FMB instead because of the positioning flexibility they offer. Doesn’t appear a FMB could be used on the M5. That’s probably a question for Axiom.
cheers,
Jeff

It depends which version of QS8. The v2 did not have integrated connections on the bracket. I don't remember if the back has the hardware for the FMB but I'm sure Ian will add one for you. Recognize you'll sacrifice bass and some mid performance if it's not flush with the wall.

Debbie told me that sound wise the M5ow was better hanging on the T (vs FMB) since that’s the way they are designed. This was ok by me since I’m going to use them as rear surrounds and toe in was probably not going to be that important.

If you plan to hang them on an FMB then make sure you tell Axiom since they might need to change a few things like adding inserts or binding posts. Note that if you get binding posts you might be giving up the ability to ever hang them on a T as Debbie also said there was not enough room to do both. My take was to get the T and use it just as a connector if I later decided on using an FMB

If you must FMB them, get bookshelves.

I should mention that I’m hanging M3ow’s by FMBs from the ceiling for top surrounds.
Haven’t tested it but Nick B. has and assured me it works fine ... so you might want to try it both ways
