Full Metal Bracket.
Sure hanging OW via FMBs works but it's not as acoustically performant.

Sure hanging OW via FMBs works but it's not as acoustically performant. It’s an experiment ... Figure I can add a back board behind it ... or mount them as intended if I judge the result unacceptable. I can never have too many projects as i need as many excuses as possible for not getting anything done.

Experiments are good. Try a 5x5 foot wide backboard consisting of 2x4 and gyproc on both sides sandwiching insulation. That's how Ian characterized it in the chamber. That will keep you busy for a while.
