Axiom EP500s landed today. Put in back of room at 1/4 wall points where we landed a dedicated circuit way back. I definitely need to dial it in this weekend. The EP500s took a few to wake up too. Wierd. Even though I was at 3/4 vol on each. Then they did...... Try this song out Mojo with your doom room. CV sould do well too with his cannons. Planet Earth - Racer Snakes vs Iguanas. Hanz Zimmer. https://open.spotify.com/track/32D70rYwj7N8UIsFE7V9Vy?si=SHm2-oT3RRGUR-Dz0ZGbPQVery very cool. Wife cowered and cried out awwwww! Dread achievent soon. Lol. Might create a step by step calibration how to this weekend for Others to try. Supposed to snow here Saturday. Holy cow this is going to be fun! Lots of potential here. This song is just..... just...... wow. Art Angels - Venus Fly - Grimes https://open.spotify.com/track/53qe0ASgMg8L6VaM7fljqF?si=LpvORO-1SzSmap_h0nE8sg

These subs were picked up during the boxing week sale. They were a good deal but are mismatched. One is Boston Cherry, the other Walnut Espresso. Gotta say, I like the Boston Cherry better. They are both nice for sure.
Kudos to Axiom on these finishes. Extremely clean and well proportioned design too. They are biggish boxes, but the tall narrow design is easy on the eyes. Never thought I’d say it about a sub, but handsome design.
However, they will vanish. They will move behind a fabric screen wall at the front of the room perched atop cinder block boosters. The existing subs (SVS SB-12NSD) will move to the rear wall. They are 14.5” cube boxes and the hope is they will have granular phase adjustment dials. Wait and see I guess. Like others, the NAD AVR here only has one subwoofer setting (modern Denons are ahead in this reagard) so the rear subs will be integrated to match the phase of the mains at the mlp using old fashioned knobs.
Hoping to get strong sub 20hz extension with the addition. And finally..... dread. Frightening and startling realism. My goal for some time now.

Trevor, I'm glad to hear you received them. They're the same finish as my latest 500s. Out of all the finishes, I still prefer walnut natural satin because it shows the grain really well. I still find the espresso too dark but I suppose it suits those who don't want too much grain showing. Under strong, natural light, the walnut grain shows through for an aged look. I'd love to read your step by step calibration. Try these: https://youtu.be/lRZ90U472a8https://youtu.be/XnQxyEutGpA

All 4 subs aligned. Need to do an overall level set now with Dirac, but they track the mains almost perfectly at the crossover point. Lotta output and physical impact. New rattles abound.... Good thing we are painting this year. Screws on the horizon. Already 1500 or so in there.. Green is Left channel. Blue is 4 subs combined. Single sub plots are pretty much same for each. Had to take an SVS apart and flip driver polarity to make it happen. But got there.... Phase bottom plot in window. More later maybe.

Here is what Dirac says Pre-correction. The line is the filter target I plotted. I am in my second pass using the 13 point or 'sofa' method. The 9 point method felt a little too small\focused, but it is faster so I tried it first. I like a more open presentation so onto 13... In room after the 9 point the bass was soo good, tight and palpable I started laughing uncontrollably and began to cry. Think Ford VS Ferrari. So much hard work and paid off so well. So fF$ing good. The rest of the sound was so close, but at this stage it's perfection or nothing. Just finishing loading the new 13 point filters into the NAD. About to listen again... I could not hear separate subs after the 9 point pass. Just sounds like the towers up front and rest of system were invincible. Here is how the mega towers up front measured before Dirac correction. Each is the same LCR. Discrete channel (no sub). Averaged over 13 points in room. back after the 13 point test....

Yeah. Should be content with this for a while. Will make up a subwoofer tuning ‘how to’ for rrlev and Canes to follow for their builds at some point. Just incredible.
Applying Dirac after was a big help. Lotta sub for this room and Dirac just got it perfect. Dunno how they do it.

Looking fwd to your how to Trevor. Keep hearing great things about Dirac ... Now just combine that with a 24 channel prepro and at some reasonable price point and I’m there!! ... oh, damn just woke up from an incredible dream ... now if I can only remember what it was ...
