I'm getting ready to finally invest in some speakers. I've been researching all over net, reading reviews, posting in forums and still can't decide on what brand. I like what I read about axioms, but haven't had a chance to hear them. I've listened to Polk, not bad, but not what I want. JBL's drove me out of the store. Heard some Mirage OM9's, nice, but not enough punch in the bass. I did listen to some PSB silvers. That is the sound I'm looking for, but alas, my wallet won't allow it.
Axiom seems the way for me to go, but I have this "if I can't hear them first, I can't buy them" thing going on.
The 30 day home audition would be ok, but I'm sure it isn't cheap to send 6 speakers from Indiana to who knows where in Canada.
I'm ready to buy, just dont know which brand.

Which Axioms were you considering? Towers? Bookshelves?

Read these forums for a while. There is commitment and passion among Axiom devotees. There is an "audition" thread, that might help you find someone close to you who is amenable to an audition. Finally, if you are looking for bookshelf speakers, start with just those two. If you're unhappy, sending them back won't be a burden, and if you're happy, I'll bet Axiom would still honor the package discount price if you acted in a reasonably prompt manner.

m60/m80's....not sure. VP150 for the center, Qs8's for side surround and either M22's or another set of 8's for the rear. I'll use this more for music than home theater.
My room is 28 x 14 and I sit about 17 feet back from the TV. Thinking of the Denon 3805 to power this. I'm using an old Onkyo 610 with Infinity speakers now....too harsh in the highs for me.

tcook,
Unfortunately if no one is in your area for auditioning the Axiom speakers, you may have no choice but to order a pair for the 30d trial. I believe someone posted here in the past month that they ordered some M22s and returned them to Axiom from a US address. If you can find the post you should get a good idea of return parcel costs.
The shipping cost after returning my trial M22s here in Canada was rather cheap. I managed to send the speakers back to Axiom, via regular parcel post with $400 insurance for $25 (all Cdn $ of course). It was a small price to pay to hear the Axiom sound.

If there's a B&W dealer near you give their new 700 series a listen. The 700 series tower (can't remember the model number right now) sounds VERY similar to the Axiom M60ti. (at 1/3 the price)

That should give you an idea what to expect from the "Axiom sound". (Particularly the M60ti and M22ti)

The B&W spiff is trying to describe is the 703. VERY close to the M60 (but 3x the price). The 3805 with the M60/VP150/QS8 is an exceptionally good combination. I have had my Axioms for 3+ months now and I STILL can't get enough of them (I use the Denon 3803).

There is a Hifi buys that close. Energy, PSB, Mirage is what they showed me. The PSB's are what impressed me the most. The speakers just disappear and you just hear a wall of sound. Can I expect this from Axiom?

That and more. The QS8s are the stars in the mix. The surround audio seems to come from everywhere and envelope you. The soundstage across the front with the M60s and VP100 is broad, deep and robust.
