Hi everyone, I am new here. I have been a HK fan for years and love there product (mainly the Power), but I have had my fair share of problems in the past with HK(humm's, DTS crackle, etc..) I can get both the 7200 and the 3805 for about the same price $900. HK is comeing out with the 7300 at the end of the month $2100.....(too much $$) Has anyone had a chance to play these side by side or any inputs on these. The 3805 is newer then 7200 but I dont think it has near the power that the 7200 has even though the 3805 says it has more watts. Thanks in advance for your thoughts. I need to buy one here in the next few days.......My HK 525 will not decode anymore...

moab-

i have never used either of those products, but from reading your post, looks like you might(subconsciencly) already be leaning toward the denon. being that you have already owned HK products, but have had problems with them as of recent, maybe you should go for a change.

i know i have never heard anyone with the 3803 or 3805 complain about it not having anough power, or any denon products for that matter. i think, once again, it will come down to what your listening preference is. if your ears are 'used' to the HK sound, then you might not like what the denon line sounds like?

but i think on features and power alone, the denon stacks up well.

I got the H/K 630. Very powerful. Great decoding, looks great, and I got it from Onecall.com for $715 shipped to my door. A great deal for something that runs $1000 at most other stores.

Yeah I can get the HK 7200 from one call for $839.00 which is a screaming deal, IMO.

I am using the 3805 and I think it is great. As far as power goes I am pushing 60's qs'8 vp 150 and it far exceeds volume listening capabilities. I wouldn't let real life wattage sway you between the two models. I like many of the auto features of the 3805. I am not sure if HK has the same technology. I also think that HK is nice product. I was faced with the same dilema when I made my purchase. I dont think you can go wrong with either choice.
On a side note, I like the remote the 3805 offers. Easily it replaced all my remotes. Functions are easily understood by a man .
Both are contenders so dont beat yourself up with the decision.

MOAB,

You can't go wrong with either receiver. But if it was me, I would go with the HK. I have the Denon 3803 and my brother have the HK avr630. I like the sound of Axiom with HK better.
