Convenience... though the purist in me says "any connection added into the signal path will degrade the signal" and the realist in me counters "yes, but to an extent no one will ever perceive".

Though, taking someone like BigJohn - he gets better sound from the banana plugs because with his close spaced binding posts and his sausage-like fingers, without the banana plugs, his speaker wires would be thrown as far as possible out his door in frustration - leading to a bad audio experience.

Don't know why but that struck me as extremely funny. I got a great mental picture of BigJohn struggling to thread that tiny little wire with his enormous fingers...tongue sticking out the side of his mouth and all. Too funny!

Well I clearly had my head up my backside when I typed that one didn't I? I was indeed picturing BigJOHN.

No No - bigjohn EATS sausages with his fingers and BillWill is his BBQ chef.

If I remember correctly bigJOHN likes to put his greasy sausage eatin' fingers on the speaker drivers. Any word yet if he was able to supress the fetish with his new Axioms?

Jeez, I was hoping no one would go there. That whole episode was just disturbing . Poor Shannon is stuck in the middle of the Texas outback with bigjohn and we can't help her. A sausage eating, beer swilling, speaker driver toucher. God help her.
