Hey All,
I just received my new M60's and have a question. I know the speakers are 8 ohms, does this mean I have to wire them dfferently than my previous 4 ohms speakers...

Equipment
M60's
MP150
Qs8's
SVS Pb1 sub
Pioneer elite 55txi receiver
Pioneer elite 59avi DVD player
Roku
Xbox

Thanks

No. Just wire them the same way. Attach your speaker wire to ONE of the sets of posts (either set) on the back of the speaker. Be sure to maintain the proper polarity. Enjoy

There should be no difference in how you wire the speakers and whatever wire you used for the 4-ohm speakers will be fine with the Axiom 8-ohm speakers.

ATL - congrats on the speaker. You have a robust setup. The wiring part is easy. You main problem will be in trying to absorb all of the excellent audio that will be coming your way! Enjot

By the way - pictures ARE required.

If your receiver has a 4/8 ohm switch and all of your Axioms are 8 ohm, be sure the switch is in the correct position.

I could have sworn that I was told specifically by Axiom to wire the bottom set of posts if I was not going to bi-wire. Maybe it doesn't actually matter?

If you have the brass jumpers installed, you can use either set of posts.

If they did, it was probably more "best practice" (assuming a direct connection to a set of posts would be microvolts stronger than running through the shunts/straps, you'd want the best possible signal to go to the driver carrying most of the frequency load)... in the real world, it won't make an audible difference.
