I thought, in light of Peter's massive success with the pork chops last night, we should have a recipe thread. To start it out, here's a simple but extremely tasty pasta sauce (adapted from one of the Moosewood cookbooks, which I highly recommend!--gee, I hope I'm not breaking copyright...)

Artichoke pasta sauce
~1/4-3/4 stick butter
~1/4 cup olive oil
6-18 garlic cloves
6-18 artichoke heart pieces (preferably from a jar, Costco has huge jars that are an excellent value)
fresh/dried herbs (basil, oregano, sage, thyme, the usual suspects)
1-2 TB lemon juice

Melt the butter with the olive oil, then sautée the garlic (chop it; it's better that way. Crush it if you prefer.) Once the garlic is getting translucent, add the artichoke hearts, herbs, and lemon juice. Cook over low-medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Take out most of it, throw it in a blender, and purée it. Put that back in the pan, and heat for a little while longer. Serve on pasta (duh!)

Enjoy!
