Being the new kid on the block (so to speak) , i should introduce myself. My user name is simple. D comes from my nickname Limie D. Where they got that from i don't have a clue, as my name is Doug Linebaugh.. But is stuck. The "man" is just my gender, as simple as that.

Mine's real boring...my first and middle initials and last name. My name is pretty uncommon, and if my screen name is ever already taken, it usually means I have visited that site before and forgotten.
My tagline quote was already guessed in another thread, but those who didn't see it are welcome to try.

I thought it would be cool to revive this thread to hear about why you're called what you are. As for me there was a fast food hot dog joint back in the late eighties (high school days) named Ritchies good dogs. Never ate there of course (hole in the wall) but my friends used to razz me quite a bit because my last name is Richey. Hence the name Richeydog.
I almost went with Pillz as my username, short for pillsbury doughboy, but that's another story...
Anyone else care to jump in here and share your story? Exciting or not let's hear it.

Mine's easy--and boring--St. Patrick's Day is my birthday. Registered around that time and it kinda stuck in my head.
Now that you guys know, I expect presents this year. . .

Iron Maiden is my long time favorite band and "Hallowed be thy name" one of my favorite tracks ever, from their 1982 album. So comes thyname, a unique username for myself, I often use in message boards, ebay, etc...
Funny to browse this thread though, I read so many username I don's see now since I joined Axiom board.

Had a friend that I grew up with that I refered to as Slick. Only I would say it SSSSSSSSSSlick. (just some weird thing we did). He in turn would refer to me by my last name since it started with an 'S' and he could do the same intonation. . . .SSSSSSSSSutherland. But in order to be able to remember how many S's I went with three.
Oh how exciting huh!

My first name is Jake which always prompts people to call me Jake "The Snake". When i would play online games Counter Strike, Quake etc I changed it to snakeyes becuase it sounds more menacing. and now i use that for just about everything.

My user name comes from the title of a song by my favorite band, Tool.
Here's an explanation taken from The Tool Page:
In ancient Egyptian, it breaks down to Mer (rotating fields of light), Ka (spirit), and Ba (soul / body). Merkaba meditations facilitate deep spiritual growth and activation. Given the head space listeners tend to enter when listening to the song, and that live performances of this song feature Maynard (vocals) introspective onstage, it makes sense that the song is named for this style of meditation.
The word also translates to 'chariot' in Hebrew ("merkavah").
