Maybe we need to start a new thread, equating all liquors to their HT equivilant.
In keeping this topic OT, I just can't stand hard liquor. Perhaps because of a bad experience back in the day. I am really starting to love good midwestern microbrews however.
Bought some mass market beer last nite too, MGD Lite, never had it before... it's drinkable I suppose.

bigjohn, just thought of you while reading the posts now. i've recently downloaded netscape 7.1. in IE to refresh the page, one would just click refresh, but with netscape, it's reload. now you tell me why reloading a page made me think of a texan?

bigjohn, I make my own beer when I can, it ends up pretty darn cheap depending on what I make. Thing of it is, I don't really drink too much. So when I buy whiskey or beer, I do tend to spot for nicer stuff. As the macrobrew stuff goes, I'm a PBR man myself. Nothing wrong with a stack of iced cold PBR waiting to be consumed. (Dewars white on the rocks does the trick quite nicely too in the scotch world.) But in general, american lagers just don't have much in the way of flavor. I mean heck (not that these are lagers), compare a Blue Moon (run by Coors) to a Celis White. Both are supposedly belgian white's brewed with american malt and hops. You'll see what I mean about flavor. There's tons of people who like amercian lagers, the monolithic Bud, Miller, and Coors stand to prove that. I'd just generally opt for something with more flavor. Chalk it up to personal preference.

do beer preferences relate to tube vs ss amps/receivers? 2X6 has been awfully quiet lately regarding the direction this thread has taken.

ringmir- i can dig it man.. if its been said once around here, its been said a thousand times...IT ALL COMES DOWN TO YOUR PERSOANL PREFERENCE!! being that i have 2-3 beers a night, more on weekends, it is easier and cheaper to go with the biggies(bud,coors,etc).. but i do like an exotic every once and a while.. on holiday weekends..
me and some buddies tried to make out own beer in college.. we tried twice, and both times, it ended up tasting like sour apple cider?? obviously, we were doing something wrong in the process.. we eventually gave up, and figured it was just easier to run to the beer store!! i had a PBR a few months back in a bar, and really liked it.. go figure??
dan- reload, texas, guns?? maybe?? i think we have had an NRA discussion before in here.. i think that should be put in with the 'politics' thread..
what a brilliant idea ringmir had to start that!!
BTW- my ruger P97DC, .45 caliber, is 'reloaded' and ready to rock.

Absolutely...in fact, I think you turned a few of the gentlemen's ( and I use THAT term loosely around this group- lol) heads!!!!
Yes, the US version of Labatts is very poor.....unfortunate, but true. The Tecate in Mexico is not too shabby...compared to the "Mexican" brand Corona....nice try, maybe next time!
...now, how about Vodka??? Or Canadian Club for that matter.....

LOL
As far as Vodka (no I don't like it ), I saw a show once that showed this guy in Texas who supposedly makes the worlds most renowned Vodka, go figure.

I'll jump in here. Beer-it's Boddington's Pub Ale for me. Never tasted anything better. Not much on hard liquor. Those who like Johnny Walker indulge sometime and get Johnny Walker Blue. About $200 per bottle, but darn smooth.
