Black Maple Hill Bourbon 16 Year for me. Yum.

Either that or Lagavulin 16 year.

I like the Rocket look, but I love the Axiom sound, and I think they look good, even distinctive. However, I've never heard the Rockets.

Yeah, the Lagavulin 16 is what I drink, the 12 is frightfully expensive (although barrel strength at 115.6 proof). One of these days I will buy some. Haven't tried the Maple Hill Bourbon. Sometimes I go for Woodford instead of Knob Creek, I prefer both of them to Makers Mark though (not that it is bad!).

I can't believe you guys like that Lagavulin. My wife bought me a sampler of Scotches, and at risk of sounding like a girlie-man, I preferred the Speyside Cragganmore to all the others (though the Dalwhinnie was quite nice too).

You should try Oban sometime then, you might like it. I personally like to keep a selection in my cabinet, but I find myself drinking the Lagavulin the most.

The Lagavulin seemed somewhat bright and metallic at first, but now it's broken in and is quite smooth and laid back. The soundstage is enormous, and the lows are full, not bloated. The highs are clear, and it tastes as if a veil has been lifted from my taste buds.

Funny you should say that. The Oban 14 was one of the bottles in the sampler pack. I did like it as well. I drank them all on a recent trip to Vegas and should have wrote down my tasting notes. I recall liking them all, except the Lagavulin - and I remember thinking, "I do like Speyside whisky."

... a knob man huh...boy does that sound bad!!!! :-)

Scotch? Glenlivet or Glenfiddich are some of the best I have had.

As far as beer, my tastes are for Canadian or European. Anyone remember the Monty Python joke about American beer being like making love in a canoe?

Anyway, cheers!!!
