LOL!!
I once "baptized" the lower deck of the Bay Bridge after a night of barhopping in the city. (No, I wasn't driving.) Our theme for the night was "bartender's choice." The last bar did me in with two consecutive double shots of Rumple Minze. If you're ever tasted the stuff, you know it hurt coming back.

i am familiar with that 'burning' feeling!!
in college, we made a drink called the COBRA.. it was... a full shot of bacardi 151, a full shot of wild turkey, and a full shot of fire water.. pour on ice to cool, strain off ice, and swallow in one big gulp.. the fire water actually makes it go down somewhat smooth.. then wait about 15 minutes and........ BOOM.. it would hit you like a dump truck.. the name 'cobra' came about, cause one of our friends, after taking a shot, made the comment that it "snuck right up and bit me"..
the name stuck..needless to say, i put several cobras down, but i also brought several 'up'. burn.....ah..

What's "fire water", bigjohn? That stuff from Mexico that looks like rubbing alcohol (at 180 proof)?

Since we seem to be in full hijack mode, I'll congratulate Josh on the Rolling Rock. Latrobe PA ambrosia. A delicious and simple beer with no pretense that is light and refreshing.
When I was in college (and poor), I once tangled with 2 bottles of Catawba Pink wine ( buck a bottle)on a Friday night. First foray with the grip of the grape. It was an excellent vintage (Tuesday, I believe) and aged in the truck. Also double filtered through cadavers. Drank both bottles in a couple of hours. After returning to the dorm (I was an RA and had a bathroom in my room), the room spun so severly that my body was forced to reject the foul mix around midnight. I purged the entire system. However, at approximately 2 AM, I manifested such an impressive case of the dry heaves that a small group formed outside my door in the hallway and provided me with a standing ovation. It was the only time I was able to actually turn my body inside out from a kneeling position. Apparently Saturday came and went and my next conscious thoughts were on Sunday at lunchtime. By dinner I was able to pronounce vowels again. This is not on my list of highlights from the "good old days". On the other hand, it still is the best hangover I have ever had.

Holy crap that hurts just reading it.
I had a night of vodka that ended similarly. Though I did not have my own toilet. So had to use the 1st floor men's room in my dorm. Someone described the sound of the heaving as if I were "puking up my testicles". While I was fully able to speak afterward, the muscles around my stomach chest and neck hurt for 5 days.
I still (this was in Oct of 89) do not drink Vodka....

ps That was really well written Ray3. Thanks for the chuckle!

How about a fifth of Stoli and 8-10 of those litttle Club screwdrivers before 4:00pm? I threw up so hard I blew a blood vessel in my eye - bright red for about a week.

At my high school graduation party (the one that wasnt at the school) I tried to "catch up" with my friends who were tripping on acid with a fifth of scotch. I managed to put out the camp fire we had with one big hurl. Havent been able to even smell scotch since without getting sick, and I'm all but 40.

Glad you enjoyed the re-telling Jim. I certainly DID NOT enjoy the experience . As I read your post, I was reminded about a few days of froggy voice and upper body pain as well.
