Wondering how Handel's Messiah and David Lee Roth ended up in the same post.

Maybe it was Handel's Harp Concerto in B flat major (HWV 294) and Sammie Hagar??

Powerfreak:
I purchased mine from Etronics. Yes, they're not an authorized dealer, but I've never been that anal when it comes that sort of stuff.
I am on the other hand very careful from who I buy from. I do a lot of research and check companies out before making any purchases from any online etailors.
I've ordered from Etronics before and they're a great company. I've never had one single issue from anything I've ever purchased from them. Now with that said, I always play it safe though whenever I purchase anything. I purchased a 2 year warranty with my receiver that they offer through Phillips I believe.
All in all, the receiver, the warranty, and the shipping, came to about $455, give or take a dollar or two.
This receiver is truly a bad boy alright. It's freakin awesome to the core, a beast too if I might add. It's big and it's heavy!
I haven't had time to hook it up yet, probably won't be able to get to it untill this weekend. However, considering tomorrow is Friday, my wait won't be that long. It gives me time to fully read and review the manul, which I'll get started on reading later on tonight.

I just ordered one from one call, which is an authorized dealer. They are sending it out on Monday. It will arrive at my house Wednesday or Thursday. The website say they are out of stock, but they do have several in stock.

So I don't get into a flame war, I would like to state that I have nothing against Pioneer or any other brand. My original attention in buying a new receiver was to get DP2, and something that could handle the m80s. It appears that my excitement over my online purchase of a Denon avr3803 has sadly turned to dust. I ordered the Pioneer vsx-1014 in the hope that it is a slight upgrade over my old Yammie. My gut feeling is that this may not be true, and I'll probably be shipping this back. Historically, instead of getting what I want, I've always settled for what appears to be a deal, or bang for the buck. That's what probably lead me to Axiom, which has turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Despite online opinions about the Pioneer vsx-1014, it seems unbelievable to me that a $400 receiver can somehow compare to some of the more upscale brands. I guess I'll soon find out.
