These new subs are using different drivers and different ports than the rest of the line-up. Maybe there is going to be a change in the rest of the product line? If so, it appears they will retain the existing shape, but utilize non-Chinese mfg drivers? (hoping )

I'm just a little PISSED after seeing this thread! I've been scouring the internet, bugging folks all over the world via forums, measuring, re-arranging furniture, and just generally irritated because I couldn't find a sub that would look right in my home next to my M80's.

Now I see this 'new Axiom sub' thread and see that they are going to be selling subs that would not only look right in my home, but sound good too. According to Fed-X, my Outlaw sub is just a couple hundred miles away. It's too late and I sure in the hell don't have room for two subs.

Dammit Axiom, you should keep you customers informed of your upcoming new products so we can consider them when shopping for new audio gear. It should be pretty obvious that you have a loyal customer base and repeat buyers. There really is no good reason to not drop them a hit from time to time. I certainly would have waited, and would have purchase the E500 without hesitation. It would have looked perfect in my living room.

Does your Outlaw sub not come with a 30 day money back guarantee? Send it back!

It looks like it's 58lbs or so.

From Alaska.

Yikes.

Could be worse, I suppose. You could have ordered a PB2-Plus.

Hello Daphoid,

Hope you are well. SPLs are not everything, these new Axioms are bringing internal digital processing to the signal to clean it up and prevent distortion, bottoming etc... SVS subs do not have digital processing built in, so would be hard to compare the two, since they are not on an even footing.

The cost difference we are seeing is the cost of this new smart amplifier design. If it works as stated, the sound should be very pure with a very flat frequency response. Is it worth the difference? We shall see when the reviews come out. I would give up raw SPLs for a very clean tight bass.

Later,

TonyM
