Hey folks,
I'm curious how most of you, especially the ones that have front projectors, mount your center speaker. I believe the center is supposed to be aligned with the mains? Anyway, my situation is that I have a 9' wide 16x9 wall painted screen, and have prebuilt a stage below the screen out of 2x8's to set the mains and center on. I'm curious if the center will be to low and that the folks sitting in the back row of my elevated seating platform may not get all the detailed audio. What if I were to mount the center above the screen and slightly pointed downwards, would this be a good solution?

I forgot to mention, I don't see a stand for this model on the axiom website, it would seem that might be a good idea to raise it up a bit?

Thanks Randy

Randy, mounting the EP350 above the screen and tilted downward should work well(ignore the skeptics in the posts below), but leaving it on the stage and tilted upward should work as well. Experiment with both locations and note that flipping the EP350 upside down will automatically tilt it upward because of the slanted surface(but you'll have to do some carpentry work to get that slant).

That would be one heck of a bracket, John.

John,

He'd better have one hell of a bracket if he's gonna mount an EP350 above his screen. Randy, he meant the VP150, but he had a "senior" moment. I'm VERY familiar with those.

John, How'd you like the Browns score last week?

Ok now I'm confused I assume you are referring to the VP150. I'm pretty strong, but it might be a little difficult lifting the EP350 above the screen let alone figuring out how to mount it....

thanks for the advice I follow you....I noticed in the FAQ section of Axiom's website, there is a link to some of the members pictures. There is a member, can't remember his handle, anyway he had an awesome Front Projection HT setup and the picture showed his VP150 mounted above the screen...

That would probably be the Dr. Home Theatre (aka Joe). He's actually an Axiom employee, I believe.

I'm sure your right, one of these days I'll get to know who is who around here... I actually talked to Joe for 30 minutes one day when needing feedback on my receiver choice and also thoughts on how to mount the qs8's to my ceiling locations. We will just say it was a very interesting conversation...

Jack, I already asked you to order my Super Bowl tickets, so that should say it all.

Randy, since the 350 doesn't have that slanted top, just leave it in the corner and experiment with the 150 instead. Incidentally, with front projection I'd have suggested using a third M60 or a M22 below the screen as a center rather than the 150. Among others Ian himself has 150s both above and below his screen.

Of that puny post? Nonsense! No creativity! No pith! No zip! No joie de vivre!

I've put your name on the list for Super Bowl tickets, John.

Agreed! I think it's John that has the slanted top!

You gotta love it, I like a man that takes constructive criticism well. I would not have even noticed his edit.
