Hey everyone, I own a set of Dynaudio for the front of my home theater (52 main & 42C center) and am researching speakers for surround. Although Dynaudio makes the 42W for surround, it won't really work with my room since my sofa's are flushed against the rear wall.

I'm interested in getting bipolar surrounds like the QS4 to get a more diffused surround sound and was wondering if anyone had any experience mixing dynaudio with axiom speakers.

i think the QS4's and QS8's are considered quadpolar speakers.. they have woofers on the top and bottom that shoot sound up and down.. and they have tweeters on the face that shoot the sound left and right.

i have had no experience with dynaudio speakers, but i can tell you that the QS8's do a great job of dispersing the sound. it can be subtle and almost unoticable at times, but then when the scene calls for it, they come alive. they mesh very well with my M60's in the front, and i couldnt be happier with them.

Hey Jimmy,

I, too, have no experience with Dynaudio speakers. But, I have run across several folks who use speakers other than Axiom as their fronts and center, and use the QS series as their surrounds. Having the surrounds matched to the fronts and center, while preferable, isn't AS crucial as having the fronts and center matched. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get away with mixing the QS speakers with your Dynaudios. But, should it not work, it wouldn't cost you much, in return shipping, to return the Axioms as long as it's within the 30 day trial period.
