I have not heard the KLH, but was only partly joking. At $89 it wouldn't be too difficult to bring it home, maybe use a signal splitter and stack the Jensen on top of the KLH and see how they work.
The KLH is a new model. 12" downward-firing woofer and a 125 watt amp. I'm guessing that the fellers that make it have likely done some reverse engineering on products like the HSU STF2, which is made in the same country.

Which has about a billion people and probably just as many factories. I don't find it likely at all!

I dunno. You think they designed it from the ground up? Based on research in the rice paddies?

Uh, why would they be paying particular attention to a niche manufacturer like Hsu? I find it far more likely they did a little research on the internet, or hired some experienced engineers (possibly from Hsu, likely from some other company).
A country of a billion people likely has a few audio experts of their own lying around. After all, these are the people that eclipsed the Western world in technical prowess up until the 1800s, most likely. Now, I don't approve of their government or their robber baron economy, but don't discount their abilities.
Oh wait, you were joking again.

I was joking. I have no idea where the design came from or whether that sub is any good or not, but at $89 I would probably take a look at it - if I needed a sub for a smallish HT.
Returning stuff at Costco is always hassle-free, so there is really nothing to lose.

This might sound really ignorant but how so you pronounce HSU? Is it just "H-S-U" or something like "huhsue"

I believe the correct was is "shoe", but people also say "sue".
I like to keep it simple and say "ooo"
