but I guess its why we're all here and I just HAVE to share...

It must be the time of year when we all head back to our hideouts and think HT again since there have been alot of these "I just ordered my Axioms" recently.

Well here's another. I JUST ORDERED MY AIXOMS.

And it only took me since christmas to decide. Talk about fence sitting.

A big thanks to all forum members for your input in helping me decide the best sytsem for me. You all have truly been a great help, either directly or indirectly!

Only problem is I ordered B-stock and I could be waiting up to 12 weeks... Still it saved me 500 bucks this way. [ lots $$$ left for those platinum cables ]

What I'd get?
M60 front
M22 centre
Qs8 surround
EP500 sub
Denon 2105 ( already landed ) Luv it!

Thanks a bunch folks, Jag

WOW! You're the first forum member to order an EP500, I think. We'll be eager to hear what you think. CRUD! Now WE gotta wait 12 weeks too. DRAT!

Woo hoo, that's gonna be a nice system.

Even better, I don't see the EP500 on the "factory outlet" list so maybe it will show up earlier than the rest and you can tell us how it sounds !!

Nope. I'm simply inline. Apparently, there is a very long wait list for the new subs. I'm imagining its like one of those lines you sit in on Boxing Day. I was told they couldn't give me any ETA on the EP500 and given that I asked for a B-Stock I'm sure it'll take a while. Hopefully not to long.

It was a back and forth decision on the sub but in the end I decided I would prefer it to match the rest of the system and didn't want to deal with Canadian customs ( duty/taxes ) with a SVS/HSU order. It was a big leap for me not having any reviews to go on but given Axioms rep with their other speakers I figured the new subs should be atleast equal to other equally priced subs. And if any thing my preference is for a "musical" sub which seems to be what Axiom makes.

I'll definitely give my impressions on everything.
But by all accounts I'll likely be just saying WOW, WOOOOOW for the first little while.

This is definetly a no compromise system for me. But since my last speaker purchase was very much a compromise and it was around 1990 I figure I'd better do it right as I'll be living with it for along time.

Cheers, jag

What do you have for a TV? I noticed the M22ti as center. An unusal move - if only because it's hard to place a vertical center.

Hey Spiffme, currently I'm running an older JVC CRT. For movie watching the CRT will be a short term solution. I'll either place the M22 on a shelf above the TV or on a stand tilted up infront of the TV, or even place the M22 on its side, it'll take some experimenting I'm sure.

Hopefully sooner than later, the plan is to have a projector and place the M22 & M60's just below the screen. I wanted a music first kind of system and liked the idea, introduced to me here on the forum, of a vertical centre. Also, Alan's comments saying how well the M22 performed as a centre on its side compared to the VP150 helped push me in this direction. In addition I'm in a relatively narrow room so I dont believe I will miss the excellent lateral dispersion offered by the VP150. I figure if the M22 doesn't work as well as I expect then its a realatively cheap expense to ship it back and get the VP150.

I'll let you folks know how it goes...
