I don't think they necessarily do have B-stock units available. I simply ordered on the premise that they will once manufacturing is full steam ahead.

I haven't seen much hyping or exaggeration from Axiom yet; they could be starting that with the new subs but I doubt it. The 500/600 descriptions are pretty colourful but it seems more like a case of "letting the engineer write the copy" rather than hype.

The EP350 (and similar subs like my PSB 6i) are probably a "3" on a linear scale and a "6-7" on the logarithmic scale our ears and brains seem to follow. In other words, yeah the new subs probably ARE three times as good in terms of measured flat response and extension (particularly flat response), but in terms of real listening enjoyment the difference will probably be much smaller.

I don't think there was any attempt to slag the EP350; from all accounts it's a very good sub.
