did anyone out there opt for the custom finish on their axiom speakers? Just wondering what creative finish/grill combos people came up with. And are there any pictures of the finished products??
Thanks.

classic oak with burnt sienna grills. with the flash, the grills look a little 'pink', but they are not at all. in regular light, they look a light sandy brown
and the front view.
and, a closer look at the wood pattern.

Both of those finishes look great!
BigJohn- those M60s actually look small next to that entertainment center! Does your VP150 give you any "continuity" problem up that high?

a little, but its not horrible. my Onkyo 701 has a delay setting, so i have made adjustments. and, my wife has problems hearing voices on movies, so i have set it at a few higher dbs than the other speakers. you cant notice on the pics, but i have the 150 drastically propped down toward the listening position. i actually ran a string in a straight line, from the main seating position, right up to the speakers of the 150. its a perfect line. so, i freely admit the 150 being so high is not the 'best' place for a center channel, but i had to deal with my environment. luckily, with by having such a versatile receiver, i have been able to make the necessary adjustments to make the center intergrate with the rest of the system as best as possible.
and yes, my entertainment center is huge.. which is perfectly fine, as long as you dont have to move the dang thing.

Question about the standard/basic finishes - are they veneer? Also, what is the main difference between the standard and custom finishes? Is there any quality difference?
Thanks.

They are all still vinyl. With the custom finishes, you can select from a number of high gloss finishes (though they cost more than the matte custom finishes) which, from what I see in pictures, look phenomenal.

Come on, there has to be some more custom finishes out there!!
Does anyone have one of the glossy finishes? I think it really makes the speaker look sharp!!
It is obviously hard to tell what a speaker will look like w/ the custom finishes from the pictures on the axiom site. So owners, please keep those pictures coming!
Thanks!!

We've been leaning hard on Amie to get a speaker finish gallery section added to the site. It would really cut down on a lot of annoying questions in the forum.
just kidding, ya know.

OK, here's a link to mine. The placement isn't current, and the M22s are Peter's, but... My M50s are in Vermont Maple, and the M22s sitting on top of them are Boston Cherry. Fairly similar. I have black grills.
