I know this has been kicked around before.
But I just purchased a new NAD 925THX Amp

Do most folks here leave their Amps on all the time, or do
they turn them off after use...

I will be using it almost every day for 2-4 hours

You're going to get a variety of responses...at least for the term of amp "break in" since you have a new amp. There are a number of companies that suggest for you to take a good number of hours to break your amp in. Some people suggest to leave it on, playing for a good 24-48 cycle, some suggest 100, 200, or even a couple thousand to fully tap into its openness and power.
This, of course, is all at your discretion. Even if you went with this way of thinking...you can achieve the same effect by just normal use. Of course, if you went with your numbers on the low end of 2 hours a day it would take several weeks to acheive the same effect.

The people who believe in speaker and amp break in are as opposed as the north and south poles. So take everything with a grain of salt.

To directly answer your question, the answer is "no". You don't have to leave it on.

Another angle is that leaving the amplifier on ensures it is warm/hot and ready for immediate use. This theory is based on the premise that electronics perform better when at normal operating temp. - and this can be directly related to automobiles - for those who will take this into the "break in" theory.

Having designed electronic circuits for almost 2 decades, it has merit HOWEVER, it is more applicable to circuits that would be much colder than those in an average home. Remember leaving your laptop in your car in the cold winter night? I works...but marginally at first until it thaws. This phenomena is measurable - even for normal home temperatures, but is very immaterial in home electronics.

You can feel secrue in turning your equipment off after use.

Check out this link of Rotel amps, pre-amps and receivers. http://europe.rotel.com/support/techups/techup-10-2.htm

Every amp consumes a different amount of power at idle. For instance I have a Rotel RMB-1095 and according to the chart it consumes 2.9 watts at idle(standby) and 190 watts when left on and doing nothing but sitting there. That's like leaving a 200 watt bulb burning 24/7. So I let the 12 volt trigger from my pre-amp put it in standby when not in use.

Wow. That's a pretty good argument. I wonder how much power my sub uses just sitting there. I always forget to turn it off...

I usually have music going in the morning, and if I know I'm going to watch a movie later in the evening, then I will just leave the amps on.
