Talk about timing! After months away from this board, I came back on Nov 14 to find news of a price increase. So, in the interest of "saving money", I am about to become about $1600 poorer.

My cart now contains an M60 / VP150 / QS8 / M2 B-stock system, all in Black Oak. The theater room is nowhere near completion, but I know what I want, and I'd rather have the toys early than pay more for them later. Even the wife agrees (she just loves a bargain).

I will fill out the rest of the system (someday) with an SVS 20-39 PCi or PC-Plus, Denon 3805, Sanyo PLV-Z3, and a yet-to-be-determined upsampling DVD player.

So much for the holiday budget . . . "Complete This Order" . . . CLICK!

I'm glad you got the deal! I think you will be very impressed with the sound. There’s no turning back now .
I have the black oak too and it looks very realistic.
Have fun! It sounds like your on your way to a very nice setup.

I'm glad I got the deal, too! Luckily, I am not in a hurry. The quoted F.O. lead times for Black Oak are:

M60ti: 5 weeks
VP150: 2 weeks
QS8: 9 weeks
M2i: 3 weeks

so I should be receiving a bunch 'o boxes late January. Until then, I will be fighting the urge to grab a B-stock Denon AVR-3805 from Dakmart.

Man you sound just like me, I had to get all of my toys early, see below....Tomorrow will be the third day I've been working on hanging drywall on the ceiling in my basement, 30 4x12 sheets, and that is just the ceiling, can't wait to start on the walls...congrats, and you will absolutely love these little gems....

Like you in several ways, it seems. Two guys named Randy with tech careers, both building basement HT using Axiom sound driven by Denon and lit up by Sanyo front projectors. What can I say, great minds think alike.

You are definitely ahead of me on your project. I have a long way to go before sheetrock goes up, but that's one job I won't do myself. I am doing the framing, plumbing, and electrical. That's quite enough work for me with a full kitchen, full bath, 2 bedrooms, laundry rough-in, pool table and pinball areas, plus the 8-seat theater space. Hanging drywall just ain't my thing, especially on the ceiling! Good luck with yours - my neck hurts just thinking about it.

When my Axiom bundle arrives, the basement will be in no condition to accept new speakers. So I guess I'll just have to set them up temporarily in the Family Room for auditioning. I already have an RBH Sound in-wall/in-ceiling surround system in that room with an old 35" Mitsubishi tube - it's not what I would call "HT", but it's good for general movie watching.

My plans had included the Z2 up until the Z3 came out. The higher contrast and ever-so-slightly quieter fan noise swayed me toward the newer model. Of course, if I can get a great deal on a Z2, I may still end up with one. What kind of screen are you lighting up with your Z2?

Four weeks ago today I ordered my factory outlet system, and I wasn't expecting to receive the shipment until late January. But today I got the golden e-mail from Amie - I'm getting Axioms for Christmas! Nine boxes left Ontario on Santa's sleigh (a.k.a. FedEx) and they are on their way to me. No way these will fit under the tree!!

HO HO HO

Great News Racer, even if they could fit under the tree I doubt they'd stay in their boxes long enough to get wrapped.

You're gonna have a great time with those beauties, enjoy and be sure to post some pics when the chance arrives...

Cheers, Mike

BTW: sweet ride...

I'm 6 days shy of 6 weeks and I still haven't received an email. I called up and they said they were ahead of schedule and my shipment should get to me early. What a crock! If my speakers are late I'm going with Rocket 750's.

Mine are all Black Oak. As noted earlier, the lead times for the various pieces of the 7.0 system (0.1 to be added soon) ranged from 2 weeks to 9 weeks. I was a bit surprised to get a shipping notification after only 4 weeks, but I understand that Axiom may be shipping A-stock parts to supplement multi-model factory outlet orders.

Unlike doubtingthomas29, I'm not in a hurry. That was a deciding factor in buying factory outlet units; I was willing to wait. But I must admit now that I know they will be here before Christmas, I am psyched!

We feel your pain. We've all been there. I'm still there. This time it's a replaced receiver...and my first DVD player in 6 years (back when I got one of the three they had for sale - $600 Toshiba) I'm waiting for delivery. It's my Christmas present to me...and my wife agrees

I think she's getting me a DVD for Christmas....if I'm lucky

I called and they told me they ship Monday. That is one day early, I guess I'm just not very lucky. I'm having a party this Friday, I bought several X-mas cd's and I was ready to show off the speakers. The reason I'm so disappointed is I was told on several occasions that they would ship early. After all the great stories of customer service I guess I was expecting a little more.

That's pretty high (or harsh) expectations. You're getting your speakers a day early, and that's not good enough?

You just can't please some people. This is the same person who said:

no disrespect thomas but you cant be choosy i f you want to save an extrat 5% you have to take that chance. its not like they are late. if you would have paid regualr $ you would get them in like 5 business days and thats not bad at all.

They told me on 2 separate occasions that I would have them early. I didn't have any expectations prior to that. I was hoping I would get them early, particularly after reading about how many people here had received their's early. If they had told me,"you will get them on the original date", I would not be upset. You Axiom "fanboys" keep up the great posts.

Dude, if you're going to bitch about the wait time, you should have sucked it up and bought the non factory outlet ones. FYI, I waited 4 weeks for my custom finish M50s. And I don't wanna hear crap about being a fanboy. You don't like it, you can go away.

thomes- i had custom finishes, and the wait was supposed to be 6 weeks, and got them in exactly 4 weeks. i guess i was lucky

bottomline is, you DID get them early. and you cant assume that because 'some' people were lucky enough to get their ordr 1 or 2 weeks early, that doesnt mean that everyone will. it just seems you are blowing this WAY out of proportion. and the "fanboy" comment was just uncalled for. YES, we dig our speakers, and YES, we would like for others to discover this great company.

i sure hope you can get over your mis-guided anger and allow yourself to dig your new speakers also.

EDIT- ken needs a valium!!

Yeah, I probably do, but I don't like being insulted for supporting a company that makes a product I love and in general has excellent customer service.

I didn't think Axiom gave out "anticipated shipping dates" for FO orders... you just get an order acknowledgement and a golden email.

This sounds a bit funny to me.

Actually, Amie DID tell me an expected shipping date (which they beat by a couple of days), so I guess sometimes they do!

In the interest of reclaiming my hijacked thread (albeit at the risk of rubbing more salt into doubtingthomas29's burn injuries), I am happy to report . . . they're here!!

By the time I got home from work, shoveled some dinner down, unpacked all of the boxes, and inspected the beautiful black contents, it was too late for auditioning. But it promises to be a loud morning tomorrow - nobody's gonna get up late for school.

I now know why FO customers hold their speakers in such high regard. I found only VERY SUBTLE cosmetic issues in three out of the seven speakers, and the others are absolutely perfect. All but one defect can only be found if you KNOW that there is something to look for, and the "big one" is a miniscule ding in an inconspicous rear back corner of one of the M2's. One touch of a black marker will make that disappear.

If you have the patience and flexibility to wait, then FO is the way to go.

Look at me, rambling on like a fanboy, and I haven't even listened to them yet!

racer - congratulations!! If you think you are rambling now, wait until you get a few hours of listening under your belt - the words will be hard to find to describe the audio. . As always, impressions and pictures are required.

Santa takes a well-deserved rest after delivering 200 lbs of sonic excellence. Now if I could just get him to finish the basement and mount the FMBs . . .

your gonna need some elves for that. i think they got a union contract.. santa delivers the presents and eats the cookies, and nothing else. you are looking at building code issues and electrical work, best leave it to the professionals. always remember the 4 main food groups for elves.. sugar, candy cane, candy korn, and maple syrup.

congrats on getting the new system set-up.
