Does anyone see any problem with mounting the QS8 T-bracket NOT on a stud? In other words using solely drywall anchors and screws in all the holes.

mounting on a stud is ideal, but with good drywall anchors, you CAN mount them just fine. i know several people in here have done this, with great results.
i believe most drywall anchors are rated at 7-9 pounds, and there are holes for 7-8 anchors.. so, you should be fine.

These work very well, shear strength over 100 lbs in 1/2" drywall.

My right QS8 T bracket has 1 screw in a stud, the top leftmost hole in the "T".
It's been fine for 8 months now.
