Thanks, Neverhappy.

I'd agree the H/K is definitely a solid choice for Octavian and to me between the two listed to only choice. I too dont like the limited features on the current NADs.

Before I bought my Denon it was recommended here by some to look for used separates as that's what I was most interested in. However, I ended up finding it required more experience and expertise than I currently have and you really have to get lucky to get those awesome finds...Hopefully with time I'll be more familiar with the better used stuff and in time put togethor something from some of those you listed.

Thanks for the recommends, Jag

Hi JohnK!
Thank you for your answer. From 40W(HK120) to 110-115(HK7300)...it is 3X, not double,I think this level of power could add at least "a little bit" more to the overall listening experience.
Regards,
Octavian

Pizoni,

As I mentioned in my previous post I just went from 100 watts per channel to 200 for my mains and there is a noticable difference. I agree with JohnK, more power is of no real use for increasing the RMS listening level. However, it can offer lower distortion at the same listening level, and provide more headroom for transients such as drums. IMHO more power is better, and my ears agree!

Well if it's musicality you're looking for. Having recently owned an H/K 630. And having demoed a Marantz 8400, Arcam 300, and a NAD 773 the leader of the pack is easily the Arcam 300. I'd say followed closely by the Marantz 8400. I was suprised how close they were. Of course at those prices, they'd better sound good.

The NAD sounded good for music but I was underwhelmed when I played a movie...at least in comparison. They're all good really. They just sound different. It's probably mostly a matter of preference. So I'd suggest finding a place where you can demo them yourself.

Hi Octavian, are you going to try the H/K 120 first with your new speakers (esp. the 60's) before buying the new 7300??

The reason I ask is that I have an even older H/K, the 110. I've been more than happy with it and find I do not need to go past 3/4 for a truly clean loud movie or music experience.

I've been saving up for the 60's for awhile and plan on getting them sometime in the new year. I really would love to know how the H/K 110, 120, 125 or 130 can run these speakers....

Thanks

Hi Hay!
Of course I will!I was very happy with it and I did not have a single problem in 3 years.I do not look for loud levels, I need fidelity and clarity, probably coming with more power. But if I will find a good deal I will get HK7200 ($814 at Bigondigital.com) or 7300 from ebay.
Regards,
Octavian

Hi:

If you are interested in the 7300 you might try J&R. It is listed at $2199 but if you put the item in the cart the price is $1399 (US $ of course) and they are an authorized HK dealer.

web site is J&R
