I'm in the market for a new sub and like the sound of hsu subs. I can get a used VTF-2 (about 2 years old) or a new STF-2, both for $300. I read that the older VTF-2 model is only 150 watts as opposed to 250 watts for the new one. The STF-2 is 200 watts and still under warranty. Is there any reason I would want the VTF-2 over the STF-2?
I bought the VTF-2 already and it's on it's way, so I would have to resell it which would be a hassle, but not too much of a problem. I listen to music/HT at about 80/20 and live in a small dorm room. What do you guys think?
-- my setup --
Axiom: m80ti(2), vp150, vp100, qs4(2), hsu vtf-2
Harman Kardon: avr-630, dvd22

JServ, in my view being that you're in a small dorm room and listening mostly to music the VTF-2 at 150 watts that is already coming will be more than enough and should definitely be more than pleasing.
Enjoy!
