Must be nice! I ordered from the FO on October 19th, and my ship date is scheduled for December 10th... I hate waiting!
Although, I did add a full metal bracket to the order tonight. Too bad I didn't think of it before the prices went up. Oh well, only a couple of bucks difference there, and I still got the 5% at least.
What did you get? I am waiting on my cherry M60's, VP150, and QS8's....

I'm expecting M60's, a single M22, and QS8's
I ordered at the begining of Oct and I agree the wait is hard, but worth it! I heard a pair of M22's once out east and have longed to hear that sweet Axiom sound ever since.
Finally! Jag

Hot Dog! Now you can get them all mixed in with that lovely EP500.
By the way, Jag. Good job with the avatar. The movement is still a little frenetic. But, with the smaller size, it is more subtle, and thus less offensive. It looks good.

Yep, now the EP500 will a large extended family.
Thanks re the avatar. I agree still too frenetic, something causes this when I reduce the image size, don't know what. It was fun and I'll likely move on to something else soon...

I just found out that I need to go out of town for work for several days starting right when my Axioms are supposed to arrive!!! ARGH!!!
I've been waiting over 6 weeks, I have 12 more days to go, but now I will have to wait another 3 days past that!!! I wish that they would just ship early!

If you can't get Axiom to ship early ask them to delay the shipment a few days. If the speakers are sitting around at home while you are away they are going to drive you nuts.

More fuel for the fire of anxiousness...
I got home from work and checked my email, and WOW, I had an email from Axiom about my order...
I am thinking "Yippy! Early shipment!!!!"
....then I read the email and my memory kicked in...
"Here is the confirmation of your order for a full metal bracket..."
Crap, I forgot I ordered that last night!
No golden email for me yet.

Well, as luck would have it I got my Axioms on Thursday and that evening I got an emergency call... I was on a plane by the morning and away until late Sunday. What luck! I think nickbuol must've jinxed me with his talk about being out of town.... LOL
I've spent some time with my Axioms Monday evening and hopefully tonight and I've got to say so far I'm a VERY happy camper. They look awesome and sound even better! All the praise these speakers get is VERY much deserved and they definitely live up to the good things people say about them!
And man do I love looking at those M60's, very cool
At some point I'll try to post some pics of my setup with my impressions, but for now I'm just going to listen and listen and listen....
Thanks for everyones input in getting me to this point!
Cheers, Jag

Thanks Ray! Its all very exciting and a little overwhelming. There's just so much more going on in the music now its hard to take it all in at once... I haven't as yet given a listen to those 703's that you often compare the M60's too, but I have a "connection" with a retailer and may beable to do a little comparison as well, which would be neat.

I had another thought. When you tear yourself away from the boys for a couple of minutes to share your impressiosn, let us know what you think of the Denon 2105. It's relatively new and I have only seen sproadic, but positive, comments about it.

OK, will do.
I can say now though that I did have the 2105, 2805, and 3805 in my house for a few days with my older speakers and I can say I didn't hear any differences sonically. I finally decided on the 2105 simply because I didn't feel I'd use any of the advanced features offered on the other units and the 2105 was cheaper. In fact having had the 2105 for a month now I think I would have been just as well served with the 1905, the auto setup feature is handy but not entirely accurate or necessary to me. But then again I'm very much a minimalist...

Too cool, Michael! I'd a chimed in earlier, but I was watching Matt Damon being chased all over Europe in the Bourne Supremacy. Looking forward to your thoughts when you get everything calibrated with the EP500. Have fun.

I talked to Axiom again last night to see if mine are coming any sooner, but no. They are still shipping on Friday of this week, and should be here next Tuesday or Wednesday (when I am gone)...
The outlet said that the longest item I was going to wait for (outside of the QS8's) would be 6 weeks. They said that I wouldn't be delayed any longer than that even though the QS8's had a 12 week wait. In other words, I would only wait the 6 weeks. Now, I am counting the days, and it in fact will have been exactly an 8 week wait... Bummer....

Brady and Michael. I liked the Bourne Supremacy. I don't know if I liked it as well as I did the first one, but that could be that "sequel never measuring up to the original" thing. It's certainly worth the rental price.

The Bourne Supremacy was a good movie. It's problem was not in the storytelling so much as it was in the horrid cinamatography from time to time. In stead of the usual solid camera shot for fight scenes or car chases they opted for the vomit-cam approach...where they shake the camera so much it gives the feeling of more speed. It does so, at the sacrifice of having it not sit still long enough to really see what's going on.
Other than that, it was a good movie...I saw it in the theater. I intend to purchase it, and just get use to all the motion and commotion.

I was going to say the same thing (LOVE the "vomit-cam" appellation. Perfect description of the effect. ) But, I assumed my opinion would just be dismissed, by those younger than I, as being a product of old age. I'm VERY tired of this technique, as well as the quick, half second cuts, that are used so much in network TV. It's as though they think we have the attention span of a gnat. I dunno. Maybe some of us do.

Funny. Yes...I'm a X-gener so I'm not that old (whatever old is) . I find the quick cuts more annoying than the vomit cam. When you lose track of whats going on...you know you have bad cinamatography and bad editing working hand in hand. I just watched The Bourne Identity again last night. Very well done in all respects. They had some shaky cam (it wasn't to the level of vomit cam), but it made scenes exciting. Supremacy turned everything up to 11 on those types of scenes thus achieving the coveted "vomit" status. Bravo Supremacy!

Well, my speakers SHOULD ship tomorrow (Friday the 10th)... I just found out that my father-in-law is about 2.5 hours away from Axiom in Canada for a business trip and will be at my house on Saturday. I asked him to swing by, pick up my speakers, and stick them on the plane back with him, but no such luck. I guess I will have to wait until Tuesday (or Thursday depending on when they show up at FedEx, and when I have to leave for my 2 day business trip)....

Have them shipped here. I'll keep an eye on them and even break them in for you!
Mine don't really have that "new wood" smell anymore and....well.... I NEED it Man. Yeah, that's right, I admit that I need it!
Cut to a scene that resembles a church basement. CG: "Three Days Later....". Our character, Mark, stands at the front of the room:
Mark: Hi. ( pauses) I'm Mark. And God Help Me, I'm An Axiom Owner.... (breaks down)
Audience (in unison): Hi Marrrkkkk....

Hey, what time of day did people get their Golden Email?
I don't want to call (bug) Axiom and make sure that they are shipping today, but I also want to know if it gets to be something like 2PM or so in the afternoon and I don't have the email id I should be concerned... It is 10:30AM Central time right now (same time zone as Axiom I believe), so I have a few hours before I start freekin' out, but I thought that I would ask the question ahead of time.
Hey Mark, when are you starting the AA (Axiom Anonymous) support group?

It's started. Anyone who ordered from the outlet and had an agonizing wait of more than four days is an automatic member!
I think I got my e-mail later in the day. If you think about it, they probably have the carrier pick up towards the end of the day and at that point can supply tracking numbers more readily, etc.
Hang in there. It's down to "hours" now. Keep busy. Start a Crack habit or get arrested or do anything to distract you these last hours.
Or, (and this is the least recommended option) search internet-wide for speaker break-in, "sounds" of cables and (while you're at it), Beech-colored A/V furniture and report back to us.

Maybe I will get that "break in" cd that someone else posted about... Yeah... That sounds like a good "investment." Then, when I get it, and it is a bunch of crap, I will forget about how long I had to wait for my Axioms and be thinking about how I got ripped off with a CD.
As for furnature, I am searching for something to hold DVDs (in a cabinet with doors type area), plus have shelves for my receiver and DVD player. Needs to be vertical and just a little wider than standard sized A/V components (just more than 18" wide)... Oh, since I have Cherry colored Axioms, it will need to go with that, unless it is a brushed aluminum look or something.
you find what I need for not a lot of cash, and I will help you find what you need....

Nick, you could store your DVDs in that SVS box your (beautiful) daughter is standing in in the pictures your posted . A better solution might be to take a look at this cabinet . I just got one similar to it and it's pretty nice. This site has a decent selection to look at and they are pretty price competitive.

Everyone "cabage-patch!!!!"
After almost 8 LOOOOOONG weeks of waiting, I finally got my golden email from Amie!!!!
One odd thing though... I got 8 tracking numbers for 5 speakers and a full metal bracket... Hmmm, maybe I got the "kit" version....
For those that don't know what I've been waiting for (as if I haven't said it enough), I am getting Factory Outlet M60Ti fronts, VP150 center, and QS8 surrounds... All in cherry. Hope it looks as good as they will sound....

Congrads on the Golden email nickbuol. That's awesome.
You'll be very pleased and they look great; particularily, those M60's, very impressive to look at. With a good recording thier sound is pure magic.
Enjoy!
PS: from what you're saying it sounds like you've got two "extra" packages coming? I think these are likely the grills for the Qs8's...

Funny you say that. Since getting the Axioms everytime I go to Home Depot and walk past anything with MDF in it the first thing that pops into my head is AXIOM... That's one way to get your fix; though, it wont sound the same...

I waited 8 weeks (they should arrive Tuesday)...
The FO had the M60's at a 5 week wait, VP150 at a 6 week wait, and the QS8's at a 12 week wait. From what I hear, my QS8's will be non-FO so that I didn't hwave to wait so long...
They actually had my ship date about 4 days after I ordered.

Hey BuckCrazy, my speakers SHOULD be here Tuesday. I have been tracking them, and I have 8 parts to the shipment, some have different statuses with FedEx, so who knows is they are still travelling together of if the boxes are getting split up...
I will let you know what I think of the setup.

Holy crap... My speakers left Canada last Friday evening, and they are ready for me to pick up this morning (Monday) at FedEx. I wasn't expecting to see them until tomorrow, but they moved pretty quickly. From Canada to New Jersey, to Tennessee, to my local (Des Moines) FedEx. They were actually in town last night, but it wasn't until this morning that the tracking numbers said that they were ready for pick up...
Now the problem is that I won't have time until this afternoon to pick them up. I am taking my staff out for a Christmas lunch, and I have meetings this morning. Not like I can do anything with them until I get home later today, but that isn't the point. I just want to get these guys home.
Plus, I am trying to figure out what the 2 extra boxes are... I added up the weight of the two M60's, VP150, and two QS8's, and I came up 43 pounds less than the weight reported to FedEx... I would doubt that Axiom used 43 pounds in packing matterial, plus, like I said, there are 8 boxes for 5 speakers and a full metal bracket... Maybe the bracket weighs 43 pounds ;-)
I was supposed to go out with some folks from work tonight, but I am skipping that and hooking these things up tonight. I think that I will have to take down our Christmas tree in our living room to make room to hook these up.... OK, not really. Christmas is too important for that.... Maybe I hook it up the our bedroom... Hmmm...
I NEED to get the basement finished!

That'd be cool, but I am an honest guy and would have to call up Axiom and let them know... Maybe they'd let me keep them?

Actually, I wasn't thinking that they sent you an extra pair by mistake, just that you had ordered an extra pair!

It's the best first person shooter I've ever played. It is so incredibly involving because the story just draws you in! If you thought the original was good, HL2 is AMAZING. The only problem I had with it is that it was short. It took me about 18 hours to beat on Medium difficulty.
I thought that HL2 thoroughly destroyed Doom3 in almost every category except for the graphics engine. The textures are so much better in HL2 than in Doom3. Combine that with tthe great facial expressions and the large variety in types of levels, and it's easy to see why Half Life 2 is so visually appealing. Doom 3, if given better textures would have better visuals (due to its use of fully dynamic lighting, a first for a video game) but its textures were fairly low resolution and the facial expressions really left much to be desired. So while Doom 3 had the better graphics engine, Half Life 2's graphics are far superior to my eyes.
Additionally, Half Life 2's use of the Havok physics engine was a great bonus. There are a few physics "puzzles" throughout the game that add a nice flavor to the game. This is surely Game of the Year materal in my book!

DJ, Nothing against HL2 -- I mean to play it soon -- but do you need to spam us with game ads?

Congrads, Nickbuol. Great to hear you finally got them!
I'm sure you'll find it was well worth the wait and are now busy trying to listen to everything under the sun as I have been doing ever since I got mine.
You may want to tell your wife if she hasn't heard from you for a day or two to kindly slip a bit of food and water under the door from time to time. And don't forget about that personal hygiene...
Enjoy

It has been a fun evening. Got everything unpacked, the only thing "wrong" was a missing set of floor spikes and rubber feet for one of the M60's... No problem there, though... I just called Axiom and another set is on it's way tomorrow. I still can't believe that I got these things today since they should have come tomorrow. FedEx did man-handle one of the M60 boxes on the outside, but thankfully Axiom uses a double box system, and it was fine on the inside.
Everything was ordered from the Factory Outlet, and I had a hard time finding any flaws. Most were on rear corners or edges and were so small. I love the cherry color too.
Oh, my wife let me set these up in the living room until the end of tomorrow (Tuesday) night, so I took over with boxes and speakers. Everything is so messy right now, but I want to get the most time with them before I have to move them somewhere else, or pack them up until I get the theater area done in the basement (what better incentive to hussle on that but a new sound setup).
To anyone debating on getting Axioms, do it! These are awesome!
A few more posts, and I am swapping out my 5.1 DTS audio CD and watching a few more movie demos...
WOOHOO!!!

Didn't ya hear... I got them a day early.... Merry Christmas to me!!!
My wife, although she won't admit it, was just as excited as me today... Ok, maybe not AS excited, but close. She even broke out the camera and took pictures of my oldest daughter and I unboxing them. My daughters think that this is pretty cool too. My oldest (10 year old) wanted to "celebrate" the getting of the speakers, so she dug into her "secret" candy stash and we had some Rolo's (one of my favorites) while we set things up.
My 5 year old, who usually plugs her ears when listening to some movies, was just smiling and giggling tonight. I didn't have time to play Nemo or Monster's Inc for her before she went to bed, but I will tomorrow.
Anyway, I need to get back to a few more demos then force myself to go to bed. I can't turn it up very loud anyway with the kids in bed.

Nope, the extra 2 boxes were speaker grills for the QS8's. Someone else said that they thought that they were the grills, and they were right. Still doesn't seem like the packaging was 43 pounds, but it may have been close once you factor in double boxing, etc.

Fun stuff, Nick. Sharing your experience, and excitement, just conjurs up that feeling I had when mine arrived. I'm sitting here grinning ear to ear.

I'm also very happy for you Nick, my Des Moines suburb buddy. I remember the way I felt the day I brought them home from Fed Ex, and you know what, it keeps getting better. Just wait until you get everything tweaked with the auto setup.
Happy Holidays to Nick and all my Axiom pals and gals...

Yes its definitely fun reading about people's first minutes with their Axioms. After one week I"m still thrilled and can't imagine ever loosing the GRIN on my face.

I'd like to offer my congratulations as well. There is nothing like getting your new system and setting up for the first time. Even better is spending time with the family and enjoying movies on your new theater; in fact, my family and I watched two movies (I, Robot and Top Gun) today. Your family will love it as much as you do.

That's great Nick!! And it's a real family event.
I'll echo some of the other comments made by saying that one of the nice things about this board is reading the posts made by folks who just got their Axioms and their excitement in actually hearing them for the first time. Then we get a second round with impressions following ownership for a bit (and pay attention here ) - PICTURES. You experience is magnified because Christmas is almost upon us. Anyhow - enjoy them and let us know what you think.

Just letting everyone know that I am going home to play with my speakers. Woohoo! Kids will still be up, obviously, so I can crank it up this time!!!!
Yippy!
PS. Anyone who is wondering about buying Axioms, quit sitting on the fence and do it! If you don't recognize a great product for a great price, then go buy Bose. They will sell you a bad product for a worse price. :-) (Nothing personal to anyone who owns Bose.)

BOSE: Basically Overprice Sucky Equipment.
Now I can get away with this because I owned a pair their $800 towers. My new towers (M60s) are so many many lightyears ahead of them it's not even funny.

You sure could. Add me to the Cardinals and Dolphins. I live in PHX so I root for the home team (it's extremely hard, I'm sure Jack understands...) and I've been a Dolphin fan since the Marino days. I've never been embarassed to be a Dolphins fan until this year.
