They come out great.

John,
If you decide to download and print your own, try using some high quality, 8x11 photo paper, and use the highest quality settings on your printer. It also might be a good idea to be sure your printer has a fresh cartridge(s) of ink.
Mine came out pretty good.
Only the bottom, THX sign is printed. I got the Dolby Sign from Dolby itself, for $20. DTS offers a sign (click on the "Home Theater" link), but it is considerably larger than the Dolby sign, so I opted to get my DTS Sign from Stargate Cinema for $30. As you can see from the photo, it is the same width as the Dolby sign. If you really want things to match, Stargate offers a Dolby sign that matches their DTS sign.
If you do a Google search for "Home Theater Signs, you might come up with other options.

I have all of the hi-res logos for THX, DD, DTS, Pioneer, Denon, SVS, and Axiom. I don't have any Denon equipment, but picked up the logo for Sirquack. Anyway, I turned the rest into theater signs that I am going to use. I have the original DTS and DD plaques from my old home theater, but I want to show off the new ones, plus make them all similar in make. Since SVS wants a fortune for their's, and THX ones are not available (legally) to a consumer, I am forced to make them myself. I will, in the end, get them printed on some high quality material and frame them.
Here is a link to a small version of what I've got so far (merged into one image)....

Nick, I'm very interested in your project. That is very nice work. Too bad about SVS. Don't discard the Denon one.
I know embarassingly little about image publishing. Do you have tiff files or what?
Another concept that occurred to me is to print these kinds of images on transparency stock and then perhaps laminate that between two sheets of plexiglass. That way, you could build your own backlit display with a simple wood frame and lighting of your choosing in whatever size and orientation you wanted.
Obviously, I have not yet received clearance for this plan from my wife, even if I had the technical resources and requisite time.
Good thread. Jack, thanks for the links and the photo. When you shared it before, I may have neglected to compliment you on it - those signs look great.

Thanks for the compliment.
The original files are .EPS, which scale up very cleanly to any size. Then I open them up in Photoshop, do whatever manipulation I want to them, and I have them all saved in multiple formats.... .JPG set to low quality for the web, plus .TIF and a few in .PSD
I wish that I would have saved them all as .PSD, so that I could have kept all of the "elements" seperate inside each file....

As a technical aside, EPSes are vector art, which means that the artwork is composed of data about relative size, shape, etc. Therefore, by definition EPSes scale well!

Exactly, and the file size is nice and small. Perfect for logos.
