I am thinking of purchasing the Panasonic PT-AE700U HD projector. The two main items I need to connect to the projector is a computer and HD satelite box. I am curious what would be the best choice for connections.
The projector has the following higher end ports, 1 component, 1 VGA, 1 HDMI
I was going to hook up the satelite box to the HDMI and the media center computer to the VGA. The media center will be the dvd player so this needs to looks as good as possible. I was looking at a 3 foot Belden 1522A HD15 to HD15 RGBHV Cable from bluejean to provide the VGA. Any ideas if there would be a better way to approach this? Thanks

Blue Jean Cables are awesome, period.
As for VGA, it's VGA, it does what it does. Just set your computer to output at the projector's native resolution, through it in 32-bit color, put ffdshow and defilerpak on your computer, turn on cleartype, and bam, spiffy little media center box.
As for the Sat Box, HDMI is nice because it's one cable, get a nice one from blue jean, and away you go.

Speaking from experience, take the length you think you need and add to it. If you want 3', get 6'. Not necessary to double longer cables (6' +), but you will need some room to be able to move the units around to work on them and to get at them from the rear. Plus, you will eventually change things around. May cost a few more $$ now, but worth it in the long run.
BTW - Blue Jeans is an excellent source. Outstanding materials/quality workmanship/price relationship.
