I know that members of this forum have raved about Blue Jeans video cables before but i was thinking about buying there bulk 12 gauge speaker wire and was wondering if anyone was familar with it. I am interested in buy probably 75ft of BJC Twelve White (5000UE) (White jacket, 12 AWG) @ .39 per/ft in the next couple of days. Thanks

everyone really loves the blue jeans cables, as far as for interconnectors.. but, i dont think their speaker wire is much better than the standard 12g that you can get at home depot. but, at .39 cents a foot, that seems like a good deal on some high-end cable. so, if it is worth it for your own peace of mind, i would say get it.. i am sure it will work perfectly well.

BTW- unless you are doing runs over 30ft, then 14g would also work.

I bought 100' of the 10ga and it's simply copper cable in a gray jacket. That's kind of what's nice about Blue Jeans. No frills, no fancy jackets, no fancy connectors...just high quality cables. Fancy = Expensive.

So...my point is, that cable you're looking at will work just fine. It won't be a pretty as, say Axiom's bulk cable (which I think looks pretty cool with the black jacket and the Axiom name on it), but performance-wise it'll do just fine.

Jacob, if you've got a Home Depot nearby, their bulk wire is as good as any other wire and they will cut to the length you specify. A little measuring/planning will eliminate waste and you can have each wire exactly the length you want (with a little extra for felxibility). Plus, it's really inexpensive in relation to anywhere else. Some reasons to consider 14 ga rather than 12ga - 1) more flexible, 2) easier to work with for connections, 3) less stress on the connections, 4) a tad cheaper. I'm guessing that Home Depot will come in around $.25 - $.30 /ft. You save a little, get exactly the lengths you need and you can get it right now.

Just something to think about...

Blue Jeans will also cut to the exact length you want, and you'd be supporting a small business man rather than a huge corporation for only abut 10 cents more per foot.

Don't get me wrong. I don't loath big corporations, but when I've got a chance to help out the little guy on a purchase like this, I like to do it.

May I suggest: http://www.axiomaudio.com/bulkcable.html

It's extremely flexible and has a great look and feel to it. I know that means zero to some people but for me at least it's a lot better than the cheap lumber store stuff.

Plus you're supporting Axiom.

Like I said above...Axiom Bulk Cable is pretty slick looking.

It too may be worth the little bit extra.

Axiom cable is some cool stuff. Very flexible with some of the finest strands of copper I've ever seen....and the Axiom name on one side helps get the +- correct. Gee I have about 125' so far, also very flexible.
Oh, it will probably go away but nothing like the fragrance of fresh rubber.

That River cable is what I almost checked into......nice & flexible copper cables with extremely good looks but then I would be living in the gutter if I spent all my $$$ on them.

Yeah i was about to go the axiom bulk wire route @ .80 a foot but just seemed like a bit more than i felt like spending on cable. but if the blue jeat is just basic 12gauge pvc then i might just go to my local cable wholesaler i have an account with for networking supplies. its probably the same stuff.

Even the Axiom stuff has it's price & I suppose if you find it locally, cheaper and it sounds OK to you.............Then what the heck!
..............GoodLuck
