This is in reference to the LFE settings for DD where 0db is the max and DTS where +10db is the max (at least on my receiver. I just bought a sub a little while back and was wondering what everyone else had their LFE settings set to. Mine are currently DD: -6db and DTS +4 db.

Everyone has different equipment, set up in different rooms with different wall treatments and furniture and different flooring, so I'm not sure why the question is being asked or what value any of the answers would be to you.

Have you calibrated your speakers? That will give you a (personal) starting point to determine if the settings for your sub are within normal operating guidelines and in balance with the rest of the system.

I think perhaps he's more referring to the differences between DD and DTS, though I could be wrong. Personally my receiver offers the option to have DTS tracks automatically boosted another 10 db. So my setting is -5(out of -10) for Dolby Digital, and by default my DTS tracks are of +5.

So apparently it's a known factor that DTS tracks run quieter in the bass, for whatever reason...

My mistake. I thought LFE levels were standard in DD and DTS across recievers meaning the max LFE for DD is 0db and the max LFE for DTS is +10db. I was asking the question because I don't own a SPL meter and I was curious as to what others had there own systems set to.
