Agreed! I also found a clear and obvious difference with 6.1 material. Give it a shot and if you can't tell the difference, or it does nothing for you, send the speaker back. Better to know for sure by trying it yourself.

Remember to take into account the wife factor (if you have one). She may have issues with large floor standing speaker.

I know, sounded like a girlie man there. Just want to save you the, "where do you think those are going" or better yet, "are you serious about putting those in the living room?"
Now I have tamed the "beast" but it has taken years of hard work (mostly begging) and has cost me many trips and much $$ at Nordstroms.

I lucked out. My wife enjoys the HT sound quality. We went through the "aren’t those speakers a little too big" phase. The key is to take her to Best Buy and demo the $hitiest small speakers you can find .
