Just a simple question. I use Toslink to my Denon 2805, thereby using it's DAC. I haven't tried the other way yet, but I think I should just to note any differences. So, do you use the DAC on your player or receiver or do you use an outboard DAC? Also, what differences do you hear when switching between them?

I've tried comparing switching between the DAC in my cd player and the DAC in my receiver and didn't hear any difference. Both are Onkyo products released at most a year apart.

I compated the DACs in my Denon 3910 to those in my Onkyo 702. Safe to say the 3910 won, hands down.
