I'm planning on M22's as mains, EP350 sub, VP150 center. Does it make much difference which surrounds to go with? I was told the QS8's "match" the M22 better - but if it's not a real difference, I'll save the extra $150.

Your M22's use a 1" tweeter and a 5.25" woofer. The exact same speakers are used in the QS8. If you want tonal harmony, using the same cones is helpful.

I used to have QS4's with my M22's. Then I sold them and bought QS8's. All I have to say is, buy the QS8's.

Patchwork,
What kind of a difference did you find between them? I have QS4s and think they're great. What do the 8's add?

When I got the QS4's, they replaced M3's at the back. The sound envelopment was so much more. It was everywhere. Far more ambient. Then, I bought the QS8's. They sounded better in every way. More open, dispersed more sound, play louder, fuller, cleaner... I think the tweeter is what really makes the difference. The upgrade is worthwhile if you can get it for a good price.
