What ever you do, don't just buy the plasma on price. Always buy from an authorized reseller. There are more than enough delivery horror stories that should convince you. Visual Apex is a good one, my friend got his Panny 7UY from there.

You also want to make sure you have manufacturer's warranty, which you won't get from an unauthorized source. Not all extended warranties are created equal, so don't always count on it being the same as the manufacturer's.

Check them out here.

I don't often buy from internet companies that I'm not familiar with, but if I need to do that, I always check out resellerratings.com.

Wow. 0.83 out of 10

The reviews don't seem as bad as the ratings though, roughly half very satisfied and half thought they sucked.

Jake,

Some things may not lend themselves to internet buying as well as other things. Large, expensive, "pain in the butt to ship back", "nobody to solve your problem locally" TVs might fall into that category. And let's not even discuss the jostling/banging around a TV endures on the trip to help misalign important pieces.

I'm thinking that an extra couple of hundred spent locally may not be much of a premium to pay. Especially when you have someone you can grab across a counter.

local options are the same as internet though Sears circuit city best buy (they can all tell you to "f"off if they dont want to help you). they are basicly internet dealers with a store front its not like i have any botique type stores close by. actually i have been checking out onecall waiting for a good sale. but noticed plasmabay always had the cheapest price so i was just curious. i also saw that Bestbuy has 2yr no interest. hmm "honey i just found my valentines present"lol yeah right.

They might be Internet shops with a store front (that's a good way to put it actually) but there are a couple of benefits to a real shop :

1. You can actually SEE the box before you commit to the purchase

2. They can blow you off but it's a lot harder for them to ignore you if you're standing three feet from them and looking them in the eye. It takes practice and training to ignore someone in that situation and they don't get trained all that well

yeah i agree. but my point was i have heard some sears and circuit city etc. horror stories that werre no better than some internet dealers. but i guess you have to play the percentages right? im at least going to make sure they are toshiba authorized.

John did a better job articulating my point than I did.

Having spent 9 years of my life (right out of college) working in the retail management structure at JC Penney, there is much to be said for standing 3 feet away. There is more to be said for simply continuing to ask for the next level of management for satisfaction. At some point, some one will take care of the Customer.

I just got my plasma from www.avstore.com

Some of the nicest people I have dealt with. Clean service, followed by emails and phone calls to make sure I was happy. Also, best thing is that they answer the phone and when you get transfered to the person you need to talk to, they are always there. No voicemails with zero calls back. All my emails were answered same day. A+++. Also, they shipped to me at zero cost because if you ship your product to your business they pay. Check them out.

P.S. I put all my purchases on my American Express. If anyone pisses me off or do not return calls in time, I refuse payment or threaten to.
