I got my EP500 2 days ago. Sounds realy great, after getting rid of the 50 hz hum caused my ungrounded CD player. Sounds great, except with the radio. If the subwoofer is on with the radio, the sound is so muffled that we can't make out anything they say. Any ideas?

colleen,
How is the sub connected to the Denon DRA-685? The Denon is a stereo receiver without a sub ouput connection, or am I wrong ? I might need more info.

Colleen, good to hear that you're enjoying your EP500. Just to clarify, are you saying that the FM tuner on your 685 works fine, but if you turn on the sub something happens to it?

After quite a lot of debate with Axiom people and other, I connected the sub to the receiver using A speaker outputs and then connected the 2 mains to the sub.

Well, everything sounds terrible, music, people talking. Can't make out anything out of the sound coming out of my main speakers. It happens even when the volume on the sub is turned way down. I just listen to the radio in my car, but it bothers my boyfrend...

Sorry, I guess I'm tired. If I turn the power off my sub, the sound is fine when listening to the radio.

So from the Denon speaker terminals to the EP500 high level input and then out (which connectors on the sub?) to the speakers? Is this right?

Did ya try as JohnK had suggested and run the mains off speaker A then run the sub off of the B.That might be worth a try.

There is no sub output on the receiver. I used the "A" speaker outputs on my receiver to go to the high level inputs on the sub. I then ran wires from the same high level inputs on the sub to the two MI60 using banana plugs. All the guys at Axiom told me not to use the "B" speaker outputs on my receiver to connect the sub. They say I would probably have an impedance problem.
