Hello- My final (I hope) question related to my EP500. Now that I'm setup, and it sounds great, my only complaint is that the Sub rattles the crud out of the floor (setup is upstairs) shaking everything in it's monstrous path. While this is a good thing, the actual rattle of things on the floor is not pleasant. With that said, would placing the sub on four 3-4" feet help reduce this? I have seen this in some setups and wondered if that's what it's for. Thanks!!

Hi Darth,
Using special feet under the EP500 as you describe may help a bit, but you still have to contend with the EP500's acoustic deep bass energy that's causing objects (and your floor) to resonate. All objects have a resonance frequency (it's the basis of musical instruments--controlled resonances) and if the bass wavefront is powerful enough, which it is from the EP500, then you will get some sympathetic resonances.
But using special feet under the sub would at least let you prevent some of the mechanical vibration from being transmitted to the floor beneath.

Alan,
Similarly, would help at all if I put a square of carpet between my downward firing sub and my wood floor? My sub tends to walk around the room and sometimes runs into my M22s. Never enough to make them fall, but it is pretty funny when I turn the lights on and it has walked a foot or so to the side.
Thanks

Sounds like your sub either needs a leash or some discipline

Snippy,
I think a square of carpet would help and it shouldn't affect the performance. But maybe a bolt in the floor and an attractive shackle to the sub are in order.

Carpet is fine. I threw a rug under mine, not because it was walking though (you expect a SVS PB2-Plus to move? yeah right)....Won't affect it, it should be fine. I even think it sounds a bit smoother.

Snippy, instead of a piece of carpet, try using a rubber under-rug pad meant for hardwood floors. You should be able to pick one up from a store like Bed Bath and Beyond for pretty cheap and cut it to size.
