OK, my wife just asked me what I want for my birthday (A loaded question). I have M50’s and a Denon 1905. The rest of the system is Sony HTIB no sub AND A 46" Toshiba. I listen to music 90% movies 10%. If you were to upgrade one thing what would it be? Would it be M2’s or M3’s for surrounds, a VP100 for the center (use my TV now) or something else. The other option would be that stainless BBQ at Lowe’s with the 99 year warranty brass burners. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks
Don

Don, my thought would be to get QS4s for side surrounds if her budget would possibly stretch that far. Even with 2-channel music material, using DPLII to steer the ambience into the surrounds where it belongs should make a nice improvement with QS4s and movie surround effects would also be handled well.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Get a sub. Not a question. Then tell her that you need to buy yourself a present as well for putting up with yourself. After the sub, get the QS4's.
BBQ????? BBQ???? Buy a George Forman and spend your money on audio!!! BBQ???? Come on man!!!

OK then. what would I get if it were me? I Dunno,
Guess I'd go for a sub first.
Unless of course the TV speakers don't do their job well as center channel, then I'd probably fill in the center slot with either an M3-cuz it would mate up really well with your M50s-(I use an M3 myself and find it does a great job) or probably a VP100, or 150, depending on room size.
I think an M3 would sound quite pleasant with your M50s!
But, that's just me.
Rich.

I would love to do all of that. But the budget will not alow anything over 300 US. My thinking on the M2's or M3's is that when my stepson moves out I would move those into the spare room on the 2nd zone of my receiver. Then mabe get some QS4's or 8's. The sub may have to wait until the wife is done with school.

My question would be:
"What do YOU want more?"

That is the question. I really want a good sub. But I think I'll go for the new BBQ. We love to cook out. Spring the sub on her for next Christmas. If a few extra $$$ come up. I'll get some new surrounds then.
Thanks for the input
