After almost five years of the same HT system...which BTW has always sounded amazing for what it is, and it's been compared to a lot of other systems, it has come time for UPGRADING!
As some of you read in other posts, my first upgrade was the VP100 center.
I'm posting pictures of the system with my first upgrades so you can laugh at the dwarfing the center gives my fronts...lol.
Thanks Axiom for your killer customer support and a great product! I look forward to ordering the rest of the upgrade when I come back from deployment in 6 months.
Future Upgrades:
Harman/Kardon 6-- series
M60's
Q??'s
Sony 50" DLP thin design (of some sort)
I may use my Infiniti's to cover the other 2 of the 7.1 when I upgrade the receiver...haven't made up my mind yet.

by the looks of those small, once you get something with some punch in there, i think you will no longer think what you had was "amazing". but, we all had to start somewhere, so dont sweat it!!
if you went with the M60's and the QS8's, i dont think you will be able to wipe the smile off your face. add in a decent sub, and you should be good to go. and there is no shame in buying it piece by piece. build as time and budget allow. and then later, when its all done, you can post side by side pics, and give yourself a good laugh.
hope your deployment, wherever it may be, goes well. stay safe and get home soon!

Yeah, can't wait! What makes the wait worse is that the budget is there, but my toy collection abilities are limited in trickle form by my old lady...but can't complain, she lets me buy more toys than most
I'm heading to Iraq at the end of next month...again. Thanks for the support.

God's speed for a safe and hasty return. I'm a Viet Nam vet. We'll be thinking of you.

Hey, you've got a good start and that's what matters. And IF we're laughing, it's laughing "with you" not "at you"
Most of us have been in the same situation-some of us STILL ARE! (actually, it Never ends!!)
And yes, you have our neverending support during your deployment to Iraq. Two of my "Sons," "Al" and "Tom" and maybe even "Vance" have been cruising into Iraq now for many years on many ocassions, going back to the early 90s.
Went on a few deployments myself-ours were more like eight months, ouch,in those days-in a far different war, with NO obvious support. But I digress...Got myself a good Hi-Fi system during a few stops in Japan, had to sell it all off when we started a family-it was ready to be upgraded anyway. (reel to reel, seperate tuner and amp, speakers wider than they were tall-goregous turntable though) that kinda thing.
Anyway, you've got a good start, and lots of support, so stay the course, and best of luck!!
Rich.

Definitely get a new amp, I owned that Technics amp when I first went to college. It worked fine for low quality speakers in a small room. But I then moved it to my parents house and took their Denon (which I bought in High School) and their system sounds horrible now. I feel bad about it but hey, they dont seem to care. That reciever is horribly underpowered and is just cheap in its sound quality. You get what you pay for in electronics. I would definitely reccomend any of Denons products. They do not have a single product that is not a winner, including DVD players and CD players. But their recievers are truy amazing.

Will comply
I have no arguments with its inability to reproduce sound accurately, but I would have to say that if this 100w amp is underpowered, then I need to re-listen to other 100w amps, because I've always thought (and read) that it is quite powerful for its class.
But either way, I know it's time to change it out. I need more folks like you to tell me Denon over H/K because I can't make up my mind.
