Yes and I recommend it highly. Go see Vince at St-Hubert Audio. By the way, I just read a typo I made. Should of read 200$ off not 500$! Sorry. However, they are listed 850$ (U.S.) and I paid 800$ plus tax Canadian for a floor model a week old! Excellent or what? Also, I don't live in Montreal and they sent them here for 75$ Purolator the next day! Looking forward to going back for a CD player soon.

He told me they can give good prices because they sell a lot and like I said, it was a demo model he just received. I called other stores and they were a few hundred dollars more..........no brainer! Very satisfied with them and I can say I found a store where I can feel comfortable buying equipment from.

I heard the Diamond 9.1 last week and found it to be a significant improvement over Diamond 8 series. I thought the Diamond 9 series was basically going to be the old 8 series drivers in a new Evo-like cabinet. It turns out the 9 series also received driver, tweeter, and crossover upgrades.

Perhaps the only bad thing about Whafedale introducing the Diamond 9 series is that it caused a major price increase for the Evo series. The local dealer was told the increase was partially due to market forces (weakening US dollar). I don't believe that for a second since Diamond 8 prices did not change. I suspect Wharfedale wasn't selling enough Diamond 9's because they were too close in price to the Evo series. Anybody considering a Diamond 9 could spend a little more to get into the Evo series. The once $899 MSRP Evo-30 is now $1199 MSRP at local dealers. However, there are still a handful of internet sites selling the Evo's at old prices and well under the old MSRP.

Lastly, anybody who might consider the Diamond 9's should AB them against the Evo series. As it stands now, you can get into an Evo-30 for $695 at ReliableAudioVideo.com. If I am correct, that is roughly the price of the new 9.4's? I believe the 9.6's are $800. Might be something to consider.

Yes and no. I ordered an Axiom system on the 30 day trial and then did an AB comparison against the Evo's. I ended up sending back the Axioms and after waiting for return shipping time and the time it took to receive a credit on my card, I went back to the dealer to order the Wharf's. At that point in time, the dealer informed me that there had been a price increase effective January 1st but that Wharfedale hadn't informed him of the changes until mid-January.

The dealer was in a pinch becauase he had already quoted me, a few other people, and several big custom-install jobs at old prices. He called his Wharfedale contact and was given an allowance to place one final order at old prices for the business he quoted prior to January 1st. My order was included in that final allowance order.

I can't imagine how I would have reacted if I was told I had to pay the new price.
