I recently came across a thread on the Home Theater Forum regarding the Marantz SR7300. The posts were from current owners of the 7300 who are experiencing problems with hiss and crosstalk. If anybody is considering this receiver, you might want to locate the thread and read it for yourself.

Mine has that hiss (hardly noticeable) on the tweeter with certain CD's - DVD's in certain modes. For instance, I get no hiss with OZZY. The cables and wire are very important which I intend to upgrade. Others stated that the hiss went away after 4 to 6 weeks. I have a 45 day no questions return policy from the dealer so I will use it and keep you informed. There is no crosstalk??? And I could find no mention of that on that forum. This unit has a very clean sound!! Unfortunately nothing in perfect in this world!!

After about 8 hours of playing time in the last 3 days at all levels the hissing went away. The unit was delivered on Thursday. I like it and I am going to keep it.
