After browsing around at all the different specks of speakers, I realized I didn't check into changing the Ohm switch on the back of my receiver after setting up my Axioms. M22ti = 8 Ohm, VP150 = 6 Ohm, QS8 = 6 Ohm. My Yam RXV-2095 has a selection as follows:

setting 1
center 8 Ohm min./speaker
front 8 Ohm min./speaker
rear 8 Ohm min./speaker
main A or B 8
main A & B 16

setting 2
cent 4 Ohm min./speaker
front 6 Ohm min./speaker
rear 4 Ohm min./speaker
main A or B 4 Ohm
main A & B 8 Ohm

I had it on setting 1 and switched it over to setting 2. What was this doing to my receiver while it has been on setting 1 for the last two months? I didn't notice a difference after switching it to setting 2, should I? Will I get more power or volume with the correct setting to speakers. Are my amps working harder on this lower Ohm setting?

Bryan, use setting 1, regardless of what the manual says(which is in there primarily for legal liability and Underwriters Laboratory concerns). Setting 2 reduces the maximum voltage and therefore the maximum current and power available and should only be used as a last resort if the receiver kept shutting down at the 8 ohm setting(which obviously didn't happen in your case). So, to have full power available, although you might not actually need it, go back to the original setting.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

I agree with John. There is no reason the 2095 shouldn't be able to drive a 6ohm load with an 8ohm setting. I owend the 2095 once...fantastic receiver!
