I'd certainly prefer it without the mesh. My choice (appearance-wise) would be those enormous wood ones. I didn't realize they were open back models--how does that work with woofers? The maggies are the only ones I've heard, but for some reason I think I was thinking about the Vandersteens for some reason. Not that I ever had (or will have) the money to afford them, so that's kind of bizarre...

Somehow, I don't think that would help... Bottle of scotch, a dark room, and A FRIGGIN' VACATION would help. Well, mostly just the vacation.

They're in the back room downstairs with his older stereo equipment, attached to an Adcom amp. He's also got a Vandersteen sub.
