JohnK: Totally forgot about that. I do not know if the H31 has a better one than the H30 but I found the H30 not as effective or giving better picture than the Faroudla deinterlacer on my old Infocus X1. For instance I tried my mini portable MP3/VCD player (cd player size/4-5 years old) which has a horrible deinterlacer if any. When I played it on the X1 it made PQ somewhat better. On the H30 it was crap. Since the de-interlacer in the portable player had issues ie. horizontal banding, mpeg deinterlacing was slow and slowdown and jaggedness was apparent when movie pans quickly. I assume the de-interlacer or the H30 was not as effective. This is a rare case since the source was from a crappy VCD player with a source burnt coming from the many P2P networks.
