with the cd's I've been receiving there is definately a strong folksy/guitar driven theme to most of them. I picked some of the more mellow stuff that I listen to, and compared to three discs I've received, my disc was on speed.
I'm currently working on a Spiffnme Mix v.2. More jazz, less electronica (though there are a couple tracks). I'll post a track listing soon.
Thanks everyone for the discs. This have been great fun!

Well, I think I might start compiling something myself. This just seems like too much fun to sit out.

Hey spiff, don't leave the wacky stuff out entirely - different musical experiences are cool even if it doesn't appeal to everyones tastes. There is always the >> button on the remote.
kcarlie, I wasn't going to say anything about this but WTF. When you make your disc and send it out to folks they will have a greater insight into what makes you tick, I think. Spiff's disc and pmb's disc (combined with the thousands of posts I've read from them - and the application of some stereotypes ) both gave me an eerie sense of who they are - without ever meeting either. Strange.

Oh...it'll still have some stuff y'all will hate. No worries there.
Just finished putting it together. I think this one is more fun than the last.

Maybe it's the wine talking, but I listened to pmb's disc again and liked it much, much better. Especially #6. But still negatory on Bjork and the guy they say is influenced by Louis Armstrong.

I admit I've been on an acoustic/folksy bent for quite some time now, leaving the likes of Tool, Metallica, and Alice in Chains by the wayside. I still like to mix it up though.
The mix I assembled wasn't so much "my favorite songs" as a compilation of songs I thought would appeal even to an audience that doesn't regularly listen to the "lighter side of eclectic".
I'm glad the wine improved your taste in music, Mark.

Can't wait for the responses to my comp. You guys should have it on Monday I'd assume... unless the USPS is slow as dirt.

Any of you folks who sent me your addresses, but have not yet received the CD, the next batch is ready to go out. Unfortunately, the kid said he couldn't fit all of the songs on the disc this time so one had to go - track #4 by Davis Sanborn was removed. Sorry.
