This doesn't exist yet so far as I know, but what do you think about adding SACD to cars? There are already 4 speakers at least, so the rears could be used as the surrounds. The fronts would have to form a phantom center. Most cars don't have subs, but that's ok. It would be nice to be able to hear SACD and DVD-A in that format when in the car. I see this coming in the future, especially since cars are coming with DVD for the backseat now...the DVD could be in surround as well.

Yup, oldskoolboarder, my new Acura RL has DVD Audio and it sounds pretty darn good. Find myself listening to XM all the time though.

So does the Acura have a center channel on the dash or mirror?

Center top of the dash. Sounds wonderful even if it is a Bose system. It actually has very pleasant mids and very nice highs. Very clean.

I'll admit I kinda like my Bose system in my Acura. Really dig how the sub is nestled in the spare tire.

Oops, did I just say I like Bose?

It's only in my car. Road noise must drown out the bad sounds. . .

I love Acuras. I miss my 1993 Acura Legend LS 6 speed coupe which I sold when I got the 2005 Acura RL. The RL's Bose also has active noise cancellation technology. Makes the interior spooky quiet.

I wasn't really thrilled with the styling on the RSX--kind of bland, like something was missing. One day, though, on the way home from test driving another car I stopped at the Acura dealer. Wow. Transmission was so smooth and responsive on the six speed. Had it for almost two years now, still love driving it. Went from a '69 VW Bug that I had for 10 years, to my Acura. One happy camper.

If you're not shifting, you're not driving. So, now that I have the RL automatic, I'm down to the S2000 for the driving thing.

one of the guys i work with, bought his 18 year old son a 1995 Eagle Talon, with an after-market turbo charger installed. its got the high pressure exhaust, and an after-market racing suspension and steering box. its basically like one of those fast and furious cars, with the big air-foil in the back and everything. he drove it to our poker match last friday, and asked me if i wanted to drive it. i had never driven one of these supped-up cars, so i figured, "what the hell"..

i gotta tell ya, i was rather impressed with the torque and power that this car put on the road. it almost seemed lazy and sluggish under 1200rpm, but as soon as you hit 1500rpm, and that turbo kicked in, it would literally throw you back in the seat. i dont think they had done much with the tranny, cause it shifted kinda stiff, and the clutch had too much play in it, but once i figured out a smooth rhythm, i was zippin thru them pretty fast.

just on 2 or 3 quick runs, i ran it up to about 90mph, before 4th gear, and it still had plenty of power to use. it actually kinda scared me how bad this car wanted to get away from me. overall, i was extremely impressed with its overall performance, but think the shifting could use some work. it definitely changed my opinion of how these little 'rice burners' perform. i think that car could have held its own against most V8's.

i am just waiting for my buddy to tell me about his sons first ticket. i liked the car, but i think it is WAY too much automobile to give to an unexperienced 18 year old.

There is something so satisfying about the good old downshift to get the rpms up.

My uncle has the S200, but I haven't had a chance to try it out. Darn it.

Loved those old Mitsubishi/Eagles.

I had a 1990 Eagle Talon AWD. That had a turbo and was rated at 195 HP, IIRC. That car could ride a rail. I could beat 5.0 mustangs from the line.

Had a '96 Integra GS-R before my current car (WRX). That car was a lot of fun, and the hatchback was a nice added bonus when I needed to move big things around. You could really fit a lot with the backseats down.
