John, thanks for the detailed response. I think I am going to do what you suggested at the end of your post, which was my original plan, to utilize an inexpensive receiver connected to the pre-amp outs.

I am now thinking that based on the lay-out of my house and patio set-up, I will be able to set up the second receiver in the house, where it will be easily accessible to the screenhouse, and still protected from the weather. Now I just need to find speaker wire that can run 30-40 feet outdoors. Is there any such cable that can either be buried underground, or run along side electrical circuits inside buried conduit?

Actually, I can answer my own question - it appears that speaker cable suitable for direct burial is quite common. Partsexpress.com (sp?) has quite a selection. A Google search will reveal many other vendors.

What Johnk said.

Which basically means that you should be able to run wires to the other set of speakers without any trouble if the speakers are 8 ohms - although I'd be surprised if the NAD couldn't handle lower resistance. You can use a volume control in the second zone - understanding that the volume will never be louder than it is in the first zone because there is no amplification with the volume control device. If you're going to want the ability to play louder in zone 2 than zone 1 you will need a second device to turn down zone 1. Hope that makes sense.
