Well finaly got the stuff all in. Part of my agreement with my wife is we must keep the oak wall unit. Got the 3 sunfires in place.
1) 600 by 2 @ 8 ohms, 1200 by 2 @ 4ohms. 2 channel main amp
2) 400 by 5 @ 8 ohms, 800 by 5 @ 4 ohms 5 channel cinema grand amp
3) theater grand III 7.1 - 9.1 processor.

I am running my old sony in "zone 2" of the processor. It feeds bedroom, garage, office, and enclosed patio with a remote adcom switching speaker box. I want to go with fairly reasonably priced small speakers. Any ideas, the room are somewhat average sizes with the porch being 14x30, but this is more for basic listening "party" mode if you will. I like the fact that I can go with certain finishes ie. the office is cherry wood, the patio white like.

Nothing to do with your question, but does the monster power conditioners do anything, are they actually worth the money, do you think? I have been thinking about getting one, to smooth out the voltage for my projector, and to isolate a ground loop.. what are you impressions on the monster units, I notice you have 2, so you must like them.. what are the pros and cons to the units, and which would you recommend?
I have 1 (5 channel) amp, and projector the projector is what I would be most concerned with as far as power isolation goes.

Wow, nice system; good job!!

What small speaker to get? If you want to stick with Axiom, I have a pretty good recomendation:

The Axiom speaker that has more professional reviews and professional references in other speaker and electronic component reviews than all other Axiom speakers-Combined!

The speaker that one professional tester recomends using five or six of in an HT system-Another professional tester says "I Do"

The only "One size fits all" Axiom speaker!

The only small Axiom speaker that in an average sized room "Dosen't need a Subwoofer"!!

Not everyone buys it, but nobody dosen't like it!

The darling of the Axiom set; the speaker that put Axiom "on the map"!!

I would like at this time, to nominate...the venerable..the much loved and respected..The M3!!!

(Insert bells, whistles, horns and overwelming applause here)

I like em, I cannot for the life of me figure out how the m3 weighs less (by a pound) them the m2 with a larger box and a bigger driver. From everything I see the the m3 is a graet lil speaker

Beleive me I have .The M80s would sound great with that much power put to them. That's kinda like having a nice sports car and keeping it at 55 mph.

Almost keeps you awake at night thinking of the possibilities. Here I am just trying to find 200 watts.
As a matter of fact it is tomorrow already.

I would have to second that. I just picked up a pair of M3s for the bedroom and they really do sound fine on their own. M2s are definitely too light in the bass for some music to sound right without a sub.

M22s are the big unknown... according to the frequency response charts in Soundstage they actually have just as good or even slightly better bass than the M3s, but they don't have that bass peak around 100 Hz. I don't like the bass peak myself (it seems to make for a slight variation in volume as bass lines jump around) but I don't know how much it contributes to the sensation of "sufficient bass".

If you feel brave you could try M22s... otherwise M3s are the safe answer. M40s would probably be even better if budget permits; they seem to have almost everything good about M3s plus smooth, deep bass response.

Boy, that's a difficult question. I think these items are way over rated vs. cost. I live in an area that has a small power plant, being in the A/C business I have watched numerous units drop compressors from "spikes" and "brown outs" The same principal exists on A/V equipment. The Trane co. sent an engineer here fron Tyler Tx. he stated we had the biggest power (voltage) differences he has seen in a long time. If you watch monsters meter, along with my clamp meter I also used, the voltage peaks between 2 and 6 pm and others times are amazing. I have a small utility co. and huge growth in this area and development where I live. I am gald I have them, I paid 400.00 for both. I have always thought they were a "rip-off" at 1500.00 and 700.00. I would never pay that. but for 400 bucks it does not honestly offer and sonic improvement that I can hear. However, these amp are amps, NO remote abilities. My spouse is very much into remote control from anywhere (IR) in the house. I could not have bought these amps if they were not remote friendly. The smaller 5100 allows me to remotely control the amps with a 12 volt 1/8" plug trigger to the amps, so it is a remote swithing box for me. A voltage stabilizer, and conditioner, but I think that "conditioner" part is somewhat b.s. The guy sold them to me cause of the red lights (LED) and not the blue, he bought new blue units. Go figure, but the blue would have looked cool (LOL) with the processer. Sorry all, I did not realize how big those pics were. And they actully look like poop with the sweat on the front panels for installing them.

dakkon, I have to say without question the avs2000 voltage stabilzer has NEVER had more than a 2 volt differece OUTPUT in voltage. Thats a HUGEifference compared to without it. I have to wonder how they make such a big deal out of the 2 ga. wire/cord they use on the product. While it is one impressive 8 ft. piece of wire, if you have the whole house wired in outlet plags at 12-14 ga. don't you really have a source of 12-14???

They do very much stabilize voltage however. So it does what is is supposed to do. It is a monster (excuse the pun) at 70 pounds. I like that item more than the "conditioner" unit. It does stabilize voltage very well. Would I pay 1500 bucks for that, probaly not. After the bucks I dropped on the sunfire products, if it gives me piece of mind, protecion, etc. I guess it's worth it.

did you notice any difference in picture quality, they isolate the video also right, transform it to get rid of any impurities?

I have to say I thought the quality was better. But I feel that way after certain dvd's are played. It's so damm subjective, the overall quality seems better. I am relucltant to say - claim that, as it's not a WOW what a difference. On the amp side, I can say that. The picture quality seems better, maybe it's phycosymetic ( I KNOW I spelled that word wrong)

Well 3 sets of m-3s are will be arriving. 2 in the light maple for the kitchen and patio, 1 in cherry for the office. 5% discount is something at least, it helps. I am going to run the 2 way polks in the garage.

could not justify 300 bucks for a garage, and the ironic thing is I spend more time in there then the other rooms. In a relationship I think they call that compromise......... or something like that kinda stuff.

Thanks Inane, it,s been 4 years since I got it as a "project" car. New everything, dash, gauges, engine, trans, complete interrior, paint etc. Now if Axiom would come out with some nice 6x9s (LOL) seriously, I think I have a problem, I'll listen to music in the garage, I even have a subwoofer out there, for hours. My neighbors don't like me!! I am lookig forward to the new Axiom M-3s in the other rooms in the house.

Hi Jon,

Hope that you'll enjoy your M3s as much as we have ours. I showed the Wife your car and she said something about a finders fee or something! She used to drive a '63 Vette, but after we were married she had to settle for a '64 MGB; not the same thing she said!

When I used to work on my '59 Austin Healey 100-6, I used to listen to music on a tube powered Westinghouse radio-not hardly the same thing either!!(Believe it or not, I still have the radio, but the Big Healey got wrecked, going about halfway through a Cortina who ran a red light!)

If my Son shows up tomorrow, I'll have to show him your pic; I'll also have to put a plastic cover over the keyboard, He's a diehard Chevy dude and really tends to drool!

Yup, thatsa nice ride!!
Rich.

Been thinking the same thing... just got a "new" car and was thinking "aw, crap, now I have to go audition car speakers!"... and try to find ones with plain grilles so it's not bait for urchins to try to make them theirs.

Hmm.. unless I modified the back deck to take a 6.5" woofer and 1" titanium tweeter... Mobile M3s. *G*
