In reply to:

it is my humble opinion that there is no such thing as "overkill."

I respectfully disagree with Jack on this one, because I have owned speakers that really sounded better in a large room than the small one they were in. I described it as them needing room to "open up".

My M60s are not like this, though. It was a big concern of mine before ordering (as I have a small 13' square room). Without question, my M60s, VP150 and QS8s "play nice" at lower volumes. I have no thoughts at all that they need a larger room, though I don't doubt they could fill a much larger room as well!

I think the EP500 sub is a good choice as well considering your kitchen is open to your living room. Even in my smaller room, I wish the 500 were available when I ordered my system so I could go a little deeper in the LFE than my 350 allows.

I think you're dead-on with your choices. Squeeze the trigger and post photos when you get them!

Welcome(s); to Mikei to the Axiom Community! And to Bren into the curmudgeon club!

You are both extreemly qualified to join!

I also have to agree with all the comments currently floating around on this thread. The size of your room is "Just Right" for just about any size speaker system you might want to consider! M2s may be a little pushed without a good sub, but M3s or M22s(a sub would still help)would work fine if the budget demanded-But Since It Dosen't...!! Go for the floorstanders of your choice! I personally like the more relaxed sound of the M3/M50 family, but if you're leaning toward the more exciting sound of the M22/M60(and even)M80s, then by all means...!!!

All I can add, is that with a 65" screen and a good set of M60s plus surrounds, center and sub, it'll be hard to justify going back to a movie theater ever again!!

Welcome, guys!
Rich.

Welcome Mike,

You have my assurance you'll love Axiom's. From a past Klipsch, Infinity, and many other brand owner, I think my Axioms are the best so far. I've even demoed against B&W 700 series and NHT, and still think I made the best choice.

That EP500 will rock your house down

I too bought my Axioms without ever hearing them. I am NOT disappointed in any way (maybe a little upgraditis getting the EP350 since the EP500 or EP600 were not out yet when I bought mine). Although I find the EP350 to be a fine sub.

You will be thrilled with these speakers, especially the QS8's. And Axioms 30 day money back garantee should be enough for you to try them and see what you think.
